Hello there,

I was making a graphic for work and after exporting my file as PNGs, I realized that I can no longer find the file that I worked on. I've looked everywhere on my computer and I still cannot find it. This is quite frustrating and I probably have to start all over again and i just want to prevent this from happening again.

Best,

Joshua

Hi jukechick,

Welcome to the forums :)

When using Affinity apps, you'll need to save your document (through FIle>Save) if you wish to reopen this file at a later date and continue working on it.

Unfortunately, without access to your computer we're unable to confirm whether you saved or file, or where you may have saved the file to, my apologies.

It may be worth checking File>Open Recent to see if your file appears in this list. I hope this helps!

Another trick that sometimes works: Create a new file, and do an Export. See what directory comes up as the target of the Export, and look in it to see if your last file is there. This may also work if you think you Saved your prior file. Try doing another Save, and see what directory comes up.

I have sometimes found that I forgot to check where a Save or Export was happening, and it ended up in a very odd place that I never would have looked in.

(I'm on Windows; not sure if this would work as well on Mac.)
