Hello,

I read that Affinity photo is able to accept .xmp files now. I enabled it in the preferences. But where do I have to put my files to be able to use them? For Adobe I have them in a "Presets" folder.

Thank you for an answer

BR Uta

Wait a moment, I just read that with the xmp just the metadata is meant. But if that program is able to work with xmp data it also should be able to read the other xmp data. I have made several xmp presets in Photoshop to devellop my files in a certain way. All saved with "individualname.xmp" . Would that be possible here as well. Otherwise I would lose a lot of time if I had to redevelop every pic. Is there any chance that Affinity will be able to read my presets?

Hi Uta Schmitz-Esser,

Welcome to the forums :)

Unfortunately Affinity can only read .XMP metadata files at the moment, we don't support .XMP development presets.

This is a feature we hope to add in a future update, but we have not timescale for this currently, my apologies!

Thanks for your reply. What a shame it does not work right now, but I am sure you will make it possible.!!!!  This and paths that can be saved and you will beat Adobe ;))))))

Hi, New user here. Just wondering if .XMP presets are able to be used in Affinity? I bought a presets pack being of the understanding that they could be used in Affinity, but when I go to select them they are not able to be imported..

No, Affinity uses XMP only for file metadata (comments, tags, copyright, etc.).
