I had to replace my SSD and reinstall Win 10 from scratch.

I've re-downloaded both Photo and Publisher and have the keys ready. My Photo ( v 1.6.4.104) worked, but upon updating to 1.7.3, it says it cannot proceed because a supported version of Windows was not found.

The MS Windows updater is erroring out when trying to download most current update.

Am I SOL?

Hi Rickwheat,

Welcome to the forums :)

Sorry to hear you're having trouble! Could you please open Windows Run (Windows Key + R) then paste the following string and press OK:

winver

Please provide a screenshot of the dialog that opens, this should look as below -

Many thanks in advance!

Here is the screenshot you requested.

I know it's not the most current version of Win 10, but as I mentioned earlier, my mach8ine errors out when trying to update.

That version of Windows is too old.  You need at least 1607.

You'll need to figure out your Windows Update problem.

Thanks for your screenshot - as Walt has mentioned Affinity requires update 1607 in Windows 10. Could you confirm the error you're seeing when trying to perform your Windows update?

The error I was receiving from Windows is apparently an old problem that they never seemed to solve in the conventional way. I can't recite the error code from memory and didn't save a screenshot.

After doing a lot of digging on the MS website, I finally found an obscure article that pointed me to an update tool that could be downloaded. It would do the updating outside of the normal process.

I have now gotten Windows updated (so I can no longer duplicate the error) and both Photo and Publisher installed and up to date.

I appreciate the help and encouragement.

Thank you!
