I have an Publisher file where each page A4 landscape. Each of these A4 pages is "split" in half to make a Front and Back cover:

I now want to import this Publisher Document into another Publisher document, but I want to be able to:

• Select which page I import.

• Only show the Front cover side of each imported page.

Approaches I have tried

Approach 1: Importing the Publisher Document directly.

This give me the option to select which page I display:

However, when importing this way, I have to display front and back. There doesn't seem to be anyway to resize the imported frame so only the front cover side of the page is shown:

^ I can't resize the imported frame to hide the back cover.

The menu bar gives the option to crop to trim, bleed etc. Is there anyway I can set the trim etc in my source document, so the trim stops at the front cover?

Approach 2: Importing the publisher document into a graphic frame.

I create a graphic frame and then import the publisher document:

This works perfectly, as I can resize the box to hide the back cover. However, I can't select which page of the imported publisher document I want. It always defaults to page 1 and there is no way to change it.

Any ideas? I know I can export my document to a different format, crop it and then import, but for my workflow, I would like to skip these steps (as I am working with many documents and need to update the covers on a regular basis).

Thanks!

Everyone has a different workflow, mine is to keep pages separate. This means I would have setup as A5 portrait, facing pages, starting left. So if needed you can export or import as separate pages.

Right now you have to use the Vector Crop tool to get the placed document smaller. Of course you can select which page to show. Click the placed document in the layer panel and have a look now at the top context toolbar. There is a dropdown, where you pick the page that has to be shown.

But I must admit, that in the current 1.7.3.481 is a small render glitch not always showing the correct page, depending on the used zoom level.
