Modavated Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 I've exported a selection without a background tons of times but I'm looking and searching for this specific issue but can not find a solution anywhere! How can I export the entire canvas without the background without it JUST being the selection exporting without a background? The image size is 744x1000, but I need it to be square so I put it on a 1000x1000 canvas document but can not for the life of me figure out how to get it exported as a 1000x1000 document with the image centered within it, without a background! No matter how I have the document 'selected' to 'export selection' without background it never works. I do not understand, please thank you very much!! Quote
GarryP Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Welcome to the forums. What type of file are you exporting to? Some types of file – JPEG for example – don’t allow for transparency. Quote
h_d Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Hi @Modavated and welcome! This works for me: After you've resized your canvas, make sure you have a Transparent Background: Then go to File - Export. Choose a format that supports transparency (such as .png) and make sure Whole Document is selected: This gives me a .png file 1000x1000, with transparency down the sides: Hope this helps! Staff DWright Posted February 24, 2020 Staff Posted February 24, 2020 Hi @Modavated, As the file thumbnail will not display the transparent background but only the non transparent object has @h_d explained the exported png file will have the document dimensions of 1000 x 1000 Quote
