Erin Rose
I am a brand new user with Affinity. Over the last week I have been watching many of the "Affinity Photo for Beginners" videos on youtube and am very impressed with what Affinity is capable of. As someone who has recently switched from Adobe to Affinity, the one difficulty I am finding is that I am not able to save master presets. Yes, I realize that Affinity allows you to create individual presets for things like white balance, curves, exposure and so forth. However, it doesn't allow you to create fully grouped presets like Lightroom does, and that's going to be very frustrating for me as I am a professional photographer who really utilizes that preset option. I hope that this feature is added soon!
fde101
Hi @Erin Rose, welcome to the forums! If your preset consists of a set of pre-configured adjustment and live filter layers which are consecutively stacked in the Layers panel, you can do this using the Assets panel. After setting up the adjustment and live filter layers the way you want them, select and group them (after selecting them, right-click on one and choose Group). Open the Assets panel. Create a category for them using the hamburger menu (three lines) in the upper-right corner of the panel, then make sure the group is selected, open the hamburger menu of the created category and choose "Add from Selection". To apply the preset to another image, drag its icon from the assets panel over top of the canvas area. This adds a copy of the original group to the layers panel. However, from a few experiments it seems that after dragging the Asset onto the canvas, they do not visibly apply to the image until: I Ungroup them; and then I zoom in/out to re-render the image. This happens on both 1.7 and the 1.8 beta. fde101
Curious... I just tried it in 1.7 and it renders immediately for me when I apply it, still in the group. However, when I delete the group, I need to do the zoom trick to get it to un-apply.

Perhaps a Mac vs Windows issue? From the sound of things, each has different issues here - missing-refresh bugs in any case. walt.farrell
