Istick Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 (edited) Hello there, I can't find a way to number my titles as we are used to in scientific articles. I would like to get that kind of automatic scheme : I. Primary title I.1. Second title I.1.a. Third title I.2. Fourth title II. Second primary title II.1. and so on... Is there a tutorial to do that somewhere ? I tried to find information about but I can't see nothing on different platforms... Thanks for your help ! My apologies if the topic already exists. [EDIT] I found how it works for continuous texts but I would like now to know if it could work with 2 different texts area unlinked ? Edited January 23, 2020 by Istick Quote
Dan C Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Hi Istick, Welcome to the forums I've created a quick demonstrative document attached below, here you can see the Paragraph settings used to achieve a continuing list, as well as the history is saved with the file, allowing you to undo my steps and see what actions were taken. I hope this helps! Custom numbering.afpub Quote

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Raphy. I'm not sure what you mean by "prioritize", but does the sample provided by Dan C just before your post help? Raphy Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Hey Walt, Not really, in the sample provided by Dan C, you have to change the numbers manually and i should like to do automatically. It's possible in Word, Open Office, Pages, Indesign.... Why it's impossible in Publisher? Quote
Raphy Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 May be a solution!!!😀 You must not mark the box "global". I don't know why....🧐 However, there is still work with the system of levels (box "niveau") . Quote
