I have some questions about the program installers:

1. Are .msi installers provided by default for Affinity Education multi-seat licenses? Or would we need to extract the .msi files ourselves from the .exe (as I read elsewhere on this forum)

2. Are there msi switches/options to disable any kind of "send product use information" telemetry features?

Actually, the second question is moot if there is no "send usage statistics" feature at all in the program. That just seems unlikely, pretty much every software has telemetry these days.

Thanks

Hi @FrozenNorth,

Welcome to the forum

When you purchase a multi user education licence you will also receive instructions on how to extract the MSI files from the Affinity installers

The only talk back that the apps do is for the news feed on the welcome screen, to send crash reports and check for any updates

Hi, Thanks @DWright!

Can the crash reports and update checking be disabled? We handle software updates centrally, since most users won't have admin rights necessary to install the updates. And crash reports fall into a grey area of the provincial data privacy laws we need to abide by.

In the creation of the MSI file you can disable the check for updates and the crash reports ask for your permission to submit them and they also do not contain any personal information
