bobgraphics Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 I've tried searching for info on Asset Management, but I didn't find any clear answers to what I am looking for. My question is, is it possible to maintain the native *.propcol Asset library on a different drive, rather than stored on the C drive (Users\Appdata\Roaming\Affinity, etc). The asset libraries from Publisher/Photo/Designer will, in time, eat up a lot of storage space. I have a 512GB M.2 SSD for C, and I have (2) 3TB SSD internal drives I use for all graphics asset storage. Right now I am exporting the Asset library to the storage drive and deleting the one in the C drive. Then I Import the asset library when I need it, add any new objects, and then export it again. A lot of steps. Also, is there a way to combine the Asset libraries from Designer, Photo, and Publisher into a single library, like Adobe does? Thanks, Bob sfriedberg and PaulEC 2 Quote

I don't think so - but it's a very good idea! and it would/could save a lot of memory! bobgraphics Posted January 10, 2020 Author Posted January 10, 2020 Thanks for the response Paul. Being new to the Affinity family, I am just learning the boundaries of what I can, and can't do with the software. -Bob Quote
Widestone Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 You can do that very easy. Move the "assets.propcol" to the place of your choice. Then place a symbolic link to this file in the original directory. SpeedCommander, Linkshellextension and many other programs can do that. It must be a symbolic link ... a normal file link will not work and AP or AD then creates a new assets.propcol in the standard directory. Quote
