Best possible grayscale printing

Recommended Posts

I am attempting to get the highest quality monochrome for a printed document (b&w / gray)

Currently document set to 1200 DPI

Color Format: CMYK/8 (I guess that’s default)

As I am researching seems these settings may yield better results?

Color Format: Gray/16

Color Profile: Greyscale D50

seeking advice where I can read more about affinity color formats / recommendations

thank you !

Are you printing at home, or are you sending it out to some service to be printed?

If at home, what kind of printer?

If sending it out, what do they say to do?

What kind of content is in the document?

Thanks. For home printing I think that CMYK is usually wrong, as I think that most home printers expect RGB. I don't know your printer specifically, though.

For that content, and home printing, Grayscale sounds better to me, but home printers will often use RGB colors to produce gray, so even using a Grayscale format won't necessarily eliminate all color casts unless your printer has special options for that.

I would try it with Grayscale and see how it works.
