hi, I have just downloaded affinity and when i try to open it, i get this message "supported windows version not found". I have windows 10 which is apparently supported so now I do not know what to do, is anyone able to guide me as it makes my purchase useless. I have been a serif supporter for over 10 years and love all serif products, but after my computer crashed I lost all of my serif products and found that it is now all different. please, I hope someone could help me.
Kind Regards

@Tanya

Welcome to the Affinity forums.

The most likely reason for this problem is that your Windows 10 version may be the 32 bit rather than the 64 bit version which all the Affinity apps need.

If you're not sure which you have do the following to check:

  • Right-click on the Windows icon, bottom left corner of your screen.
  • From the menu that opens click on "System".
  • You should see a page open, part of which should look like this:  (I have deliberately erased some of the entries since they are personal to my computer).
  • Notice the highlighted line.  If yours says 32 bit, that is the reason for your problem and, assuming you have bought one or more Affinity apps, you will need to ask Serif for a refund.  In reality you really should have downloaded the trial versions first, at no cost!

And if you do have a 64-bit version of Windows 10, the next most likely cause of that error, I think, is that your Windows installation is not up-to-date.

The Affinity applications downloaded from Serif require Windows 10 Anniversay Update (1607) or later. To see what version you're running, press the Windows key and R which will give you a Run dialog. Type winver into the box, and press OK. You'll get a display something like this:

You need to see "Version 1607" or higher. If it's lower, you'll need to update your Windows system.
