Save Frame in Final Cut Pro X

Recommended Posts

I frequently need to save single frames from Final Cut Pro X for use to produce web-ready images of a specific size.

As a long-time Photoshop user, I've been saving in .psd format.

As I switch to Affinity Photo, I wonder what is the best file format to us for saving frames to edit in Affinity Photo.

Hi Stephen Hart and Welcome to the Forums,

Affinity can open PSD files and export to them, so i'd stick with PSD.  The only trouble we have with exporting PSD is we have to rasterise the text, so any text would be seen as a picture in Final Cut Pro.

I'd suggest having a try in the 10 day trial from here: https://affinity.serif.com/photo/trial

Thanks.

So to be make sure I understand, I'll get the best results by exporting from Final Cut Pro in Photoshop format, then open that in Affinity Photo, right? There would be no text in this case, as they're just single frames from 4K video.

After manipulation in Affinity, I'd save in native format and as jpg for use on web sites.

I've already bought Photo and Designer and look forward to learning to use them (at at my simple level).

Yup that's correct, that would be the best workflow to use :)
