  1. Hi, It would be really great if you could make it so that Vimeo videos on https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/learn/ would play with third-party cookies blocked. Thanks.
  2. Hello Everyone ! Hello Team ! Today i'm coming with this clear suggestion: Could Serif start making (and inviting) peoples and users to live webinar or YouTube Live which will be more organized like Masterclasses ? What's the point for this ? Well, in fact it is not bad to have short courses or content like the one we see and have on the respective YouTube channels (Photo, Designer and Publisher) but when it comes to really practical way of all this ... it gets really complicated i mean, if i want to achieve a project using APhoto and i want to process some massive Dodge and Burning (the Affinity way) but in the same time i don't know about layers and what they are used for, then i will be tempted to work in a really destructive way with almost Zero possibility to recover. So to fix that, the better will be that i attend a Masterclass/Webinar which Topic will be Layers and where i will learn not only about layers but about most of creative and most needed operations that can be done using layers (dodge and burning included). A 1h long with 3 or 4 examples is enough and then i will ask question about that precise topic and get answers. This will make people progress really fast, drop the pressure level in the forum and make every people who really are invested to progress together and deliver good or simply much better. The Masterclass can also be the opportunity to have those people you are presenting on Spotlight to not only talk about this and that but come connect with Affinity community though a Webinar/Masterclass for a 1h long sharing. There are many things that can become a Masterclass topic, from Text to Paragraph to Adjustment Layers etc. Also Webinar/YouTube live Masterclass can be the very place to showcase the current Beta through kind of 30min. Okay ! here is toom much line of text. I leave it here for everyone to read and bring necessary inputs, the idea is global but only the community can refine it. Blessings
  3. I going to spend 10hrs in a airplane and would like to spend that time in a useful manner. Learning from the excellent tutorials on Vimeo would be a great idea, I think. I cannot download them, so I hereby request to buy them so I can view them offline

    Vimeo Channel

Hey I started looking through the Affinity Workbook and am a bit disappointed...On page 11 you reference your social media accounts, and under the Vimeo logo it says, "Learn how to use the Affinity suite with our comprehensive video tutorials at www.vimeo.com/macaffinity." I was excited about this because I learn better hands on vs reading directions. So, I was a bit surprised to see that there are literally only 2 videos on the channel, and they are from 2 years ago. I am aware that there is a bunch of videos all over the internet, but I was hoping for something that went in some type of order. It would be awesome if a set of videos came with the workbook to go along with it in sequence. Do you plan on updating the Vimeo channel? Thank you for all the hard work put into such an amazing program! Jen
  5. I would like to suggest putting a download button next to each video in the "In-house Affinity Photo Video Tutorials" list, for downloading the same image that James uses in his excellent how-to videos. I understand that these pictures are probably copyrighted but pressing an "I agree" button in a panel spelling out legal consequences if misused , plus a watermark on the image, would, I hope, avoid problems in that direction.
  6. I would like to suggest a series of videos via Vimeo/Youtube, giving, say, 101 examples of photos and how to deal with them, for complete beginners. Obviously any tweaks done are subjective, but I believe that there are a common series of tweaks (adjustment layers, filters etc) done to each type of photo. Dont get me wrong- I think that the vimeo series is great, but the emphasis there is showing what each adjustment can do, and I personally (and I presume lots of other beginners too) feel that I would like to know what I could do with a particular kind of bad image. For instance, kids at the beach with water over exposed, image of a gloomy grotto with too many highlights in the water, a completely grey sky, etc. More advanced examples could be: retouching a torn and scratched photo, etc. The photos presently in the Vimeo series are all too good- my problem is dealing with say 70% of the images we (sorry- I!) take and chuck because I dont know what to do with them. Another idea is whether there could be a way for members to upload images (could be a security problem) and ask for comments from other guys about how to deal with them.
  7. First of all: Affinity Photo is such a great piece of software. I really have learned to love it in a short time. So, I think I will stick to it from now on for two reasons: first is my photography hobby and my second is my illustration hobby / work. I can do same things in Affinity Photo as I have done in Photoshop and I like every part of it. I must say! One other thing that I discovered yesterday was the truly excellent presentation of Affinity Photo and all the funktionalitets in the software on Vimeo. I mean, those videos are top quality pedagogic presentations of complex issues made easy (at least for me). The simple, clear, great voice over presentations in short or long enough videos are so easy to follow and I hear and understand every bit of it. I have great experience of the male voice over, it is really top quality in every respect; speed, phrasing, prononciation, pausing... I love it. I have been teaching for 40 years and I have very critical eyes and ears on visual presentations. But your presentations are GOOD! Thank You!
