  1. This may be simple, and I've just missed it, but I can't seem to make it work. If for instance I have several artboards side by side and one background image spanning the width of all the artboards, it seems like I can only make the background image part of one artboard or none. Placing the image below all artboards in the layers panel, while visible, makes it appear in no artboards on export. Is duplicating the image into each artboard the ony option?
  2. Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out how to join two different photos' background to become one. This is a photo which combines two photos with different backgrounds - http://imgur.com/HMhtjP5 I want to put texts the first haft part of the photo, so I want the first haft become "in tone" with the second one... I'm new to this, and so I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thanks!
  3. Hi, All I am trying to do is to erase parts of an image like having an eraser. I have selected the erase background tool and pressing down on the mouse and going over the sections i want to erase but it is literally doing nothing. I have used what i thought is the exact same tool on photoshop and thought it wouls be the same in practice. I can't see how else to make it work I have gone into every single option. Any help will be very much appreciated.
  4. Hi Folks, Newbie here again... how do I change the default background from white to transparent? and can I do this half way through a project? Cheers again in advance (best Community Forum I've come across bar none) Mark
  5. When I create a new file with objects from the clipboard AD creates a page with a transparent background. Creating a new file doesn't do this. How can I: 1) Prevent the background from being transparent when creating a new file from the clipboard? and/or 2) Change the background once it is created? thanks -B
  6. After working on a document with lots of layers for a while, I found out that there's no way to change the background colour of the document from white to transparent, or at least, not an easy and intuitive way... someone in the forum mentioned the menu File > Document Setup but I can't find it under the File menu. I need to set a transparent background in order to export a PNG with transparency. Creating a new document with transparent background doesn't seem to help unless you are willing to loose all your layers and flatten them all into a single layer. Far from ideal! I am surprised such a basic feature seems to be impossible to achieve. I am also surprised that there's no way to contact the customer support directly, I'd be willing to pay a bit more but get the support that I need. Thanks
  7. If I open a scanned image in Photoshop, it opens as a single "Background" layer. And whenever you use the Eraser tool on such a "Background" layer, it Erases to White because White is the default chosen background color. Of course, if I click the little Lock icon to unlock the Background layer in Photoshop, it changes to "Layer 0" and any use of the Eraser tool in that case will erase to transparent. In Affinity Designer, everything erases to transparent from what I see, even the Background layer. In Affinity, how do I ERASE TO WHITE? Thanks.
  8. In Photoshop, if I have a BACKGROUND and then multiple layers atop it, if I select one of the layers atop the Background and then hit CMD-Shift-[, that selected layer gets thrown to the bottom of the stack, but not lower than the Background. Since by definition the "Background" is the VERY BACK, it is illogical that Affinity Photo casts layers below the Background when I hit CMD-Shift-[. Please fix this such that SEND TO BACK only sends selected layers to the lowest point ABOVE the background layer. Thanks.
  9. Hello--apologies for this simple question. Newbie here. I have scanned from a simple sketch on paper and placed it in AD. My issue is that the 'white' background paper (and its ever greyer paper edges) shows and I don't know how to eliminate it simply. Is there a simple button fix? Do I have to mask? Erase? I was hoping for an easy solution since I will be scanning dozens like this. All help appreciated. I attached the document. Cheers, Connie
  10. Hello Guys, I have a small problem. I imported a PDF file, what I made previous in Adobe Illustrator. The document size is standard A4. The problem is the background colour. I don't know why but It became a bit brownish instead of white. If I open a new document, I is white. Any idea? If I put a white rectangle on It, It blends to the BG so I think It would be some colour space issue. Thanks Gergo
