  1. Hello Sean P, thank you for your reply. Yes, I've already tried them all. When I use the pencil tool, it works. Although I have to say that the effect is very small and not as good as with a graphics tablet and the print function. But when I use the vector brush, it does not work. I have just created two videos where I show everything exactly as I set it. Desktop_2020_12.08_-_11_47_02_01.mp4 Desktop_2020_12.08_-_11_53_53_03.mp4
  2. Hello Affinity Team, i just tried out the different settings of the control for the vector brushes. I noticed that the setting tempo and tempo reverse somehow doesn't work. According to the information in the help, you should be able to control the size variation and opacity when using a mouse. No matter which setting and speed I use with my mouse, nothing changes. When using this setting, the brush size and opacity remains at the average value of the settings calculated by the program. Either I am doing something wrong or the settings Tempo and Tempo reverse do not work.
  3. Thank you very much. As it seems, a long time ago I had probably changed something in the assistant. Now I've changed it and now it works.
  4. Hello Affinity Team, i would very much like to have a way to create patterns from vectors, like in Adobe Illustrator, and be able to save them like a kind of fill colour. In addition you can change the size, distances to the individual objects, as well as an offset and rotation or mirroring, which allows you to move the objects manually by input or to make an adjustment by overlays. The currently very hidden function of pattern fills in AD, is limited by the functionality and the pattern templates must first be saved externally as png files and therefore not visible in AD.
  5. Hello Affinity Team, I noticed that I work in AD in the pixel persona with brush and eraser, I can't set different settings of the two tools as I can set it in AP. Could you please change this in Designer, so that I can set different settings here as well. Or is there already an option somewhere to change this? That would be really helpful.
  6. Hello Affinity Team, I would like to be able to move the frame in AP while creating a selection with the selection frames (rectangle, ellipse, columns and rows) by additionally holding down the space bar without having to release the mouse button and use the move tool. So you have the possibility to move the frame to the right position while drawing the selection before you can resize the selection. This function is available in Adobe Photoshop and I would be very happy if this function was also available in Affinity Photo. I'll upload a short video to show the function that is
  7. Hello Dominik, thank you for your answer. Yes, I do that all the time, but I would also be very happy if you could add an extended function similar to the one in AI in AD. I'm already very familiar with Affinity's products, but I keep coming across situations where I miss some features that I know from other graphics programs. That is why I am asking this question here. I also know the possibility to draw mirrored with the use of symbols. But that is not the aim, I just want to mirror an object and at the same time to the place I want to draw without having to move the object af
  8. Hello Affinity Team, would it be possible to add an additional setting for mirroring? I would like to define the position of the mirror axis before mirroring objects. At the moment the mirroring is always centered on the selected object. I would like to be able to use the alignment points, which can also be used for transformations, as mirror axis. So you don't have to move the mirrored object afterwards, but it would be moved automatically when mirroring. This kind of mirroring is possible in Illustrator, where there is a tool for mirroring, with which one first selects th
  9. Hi Hokisai, the brush used by Old Bruce is located in the brushes acrylic paint But almost all brushes that exist in designers are not real vector brushes, but in reality image brushes. PNG images are used as a template, these are then placed on a path. Depending on how you make the settings. Usually the images are distorted along the path. The only brushes that can be called real vector brushes are the even brushes. I'm not sure if these are even included by default as templates. Otherwise you have to create them yourself. Alfed's suggestion to first draw the line and then
  10. Hello Old Bruce, Thanks for your answer. Yes I know this function. But it is much too complicated if I have to change more than just one contour. Therefore an additional function for reversing would be much better. Above all, I know the function with the invert line from Illustrator. There it is possible to change the direction of the brush.
  11. Hello, a question about creating vector brushes: Would it be possible to use an svg file instead of a png file to create vector brushes? From my point of view it would be a much better option, because I would like to create real vector brushes that allow unlimited scaling without losing sharpness. This is very important for me, because I often create graphics, which I often have to enlarge in the end; sometimes up to a factor of 10 of the original size. Unfortunately, with the current vector brushes I often reach the limits of quality. Of course I could draw my graphics big
  12. Hello Affinity Team, I really like the vector brushes in Designer. But what I noticed is that the settings in the brushes unfortunately only work if you use a graphics tablet. I find this a disadvantage compared to users who only work with a computer mouse and are forced to buy a graphics tablet. Would it be possible to adjust this so that it can be used with a computer mouse? I also find the function Pressure works differently than in the option window Strokes. There you can set your curve to get a very special style, save it (unfortunately only for the document you are current
  13. Unfortunately I cannot test this, because I come from the print media sector and have never had anything to do with CAD or similar programs and probably will not have anything to do in the future. I have specialised in image and graphic design for the last twenty years. Of course I also do typographic work. Therefore I am mainly familiar with a large part of the programs that are standard in the printing industry. I find the Affinity products, despite some missing and not yet perfectly working functions that I know from other programs, very innovative and in some functions much bette
  14. Admittedly it has been quite a while since I had used DrawPlus. Had bought it privately to be able to work at home from time to time. It was a cheaper alternative to the Adobe programs, because I am not a friend of the subscriptions. Since Affinity's products have been available, I only use them privately, as an alternative to the Adobe and Corel programs. Furthermore I had also used this programme mainly for creating vector graphics. I had hardly used the function for cropping image elements and did not know that this function could also be used to create vector masks. Neverth
  15. Hello, Eddy-2, I just opened myself in DrawPlus and looked for the tool. You probably mean the tool "Studio for cutouts"? You can also do that in Designer. This feature in DrawPlus is a pixel-level masking, except that you can't see it in the layers palette, as it is in Designer. To do the same in Designer, you need to switch to PixelPersona. There you will find the selection tools, with which you can choose the object you want to be masked. After you have selected the object, you can refine this selection with the command "Refine selection", optimize it and then create the
  16. Hello Eddy-2 yes, the description in the help is not that helpful if you are a beginner and never had anything to do with graphics programs. I also think that maybe you should add some pictures in the description, so that you can understand it better. Otherwise there are the tutorial videos, in which I think it is described in more detail. If you take a closer look at it, in Designer you even have up to four different types of masking that you can use. There are the masking layers, which can be created based on pixels. To do this, first select an object you want to mask in
  17. Hello Affinity Team, I have a question: Could we perhaps add an additional function for the function Flow around text. I would like to have the possibility to use the stored selections (reference channels) in an image as well as a reference for text wrapping. Such a thing is possible in the Adobe programs, as I can create and save several alpha channels in Photoshop and then select them in Indesign in the menu Text wrap around in order to use them as references. The sense in this function would be, for example, if one fills an image on the complete background, but the text sho
  18. Yes, in AI the included brushes are all real vector brushes, these are created from vector objects. No matter if watercolour, coal or other brushes. All are vectors. You can see it best when you look at the drawn brush lines in high magnification. Then you can see the single vector areas. Probably real pictures were used there, then converted into vector graphics and saved as brushes. Of course, if you use these brushes, it will be visible at some point, even if the magnification is too high. But if you use them in real size or a bit smaller, they look like real brush lines. But
  19. Hallo ra.skill, yes, the pattern brush is also available in AI. Unfortunately I have not listed it here, because I have worked with it rather less. But this one would also be a brush that I might miss. What is very important for me is that a vector brush can be created from real vectors, so that I can use the advantages of unlimited transformations without loss of quality. It is also easier to convert these brushes back into vector objects, since there is no such thing as converting pixel to vector in AD. When I am currently creating new brushes in AD, I have to create all
  20. Hello Affinity Team, I am missing two special brush types in AD among the vector brushes, which I have used very often in Illustrator. I miss the possibility to create calegraphy brushes. Maybe you could add these additional settings to the even brush tips (angles and roundness). Then I'm missing a special brush that gives me the possibility to create created graphics into real vector brushes with additional setting options. For the already existing vector brushes, which are more like bitmap brushes, where a bitmap is connected to a vector line, I am missing some additional
  21. Hi, yes I know all videos that have been published. I find the way of duplicating actually very good. But when it comes to exact equal distances and enlargements, I unfortunately do not get the desired result with this method. You have to move and enlarge everything manually, which takes a lot of time. Especially if you want to create more than 20 duplicates at the same distance and resize them. Therefore an additional function would be, in which one can enter all data by input and thus create a larger number of duplicates and stand in the same distance despite additional transformat
  22. Hello Affinity Team, it might be possible to extend the function "Duplicate selection". I would like to have the possibility to enter the number of duplicates, the displacement (horizontal and vertical), rotation and size. The reason for this is that in the current type of duplication I do not get exactly the result I want. If I duplicate an object, then move it over the transformation window and change it in the size and duplicate it again, the next duplicate will be moved and enlarged, but not at the same distance and also the magnification is much larger than desired. So
  23. Hi MEB, thank you for your feedback. Yes, I should have attached the files. Unfortunately, these were just tests and I didn't save them. But I just tried to recreate the second file. This time the error is not in reducing the size, but in increasing it. I have created a picture of it and attach this and the associated file. Problem with Contour-Tool.afdesign
