When a new technology comes out, we almost always see two types of people. Those who see the technology as taboo, and those who embrace it. If it's a technology that's going to be used for marketing and then go away, it's okay to stay away from it. But what about AI, which you're looking at right now? Do you think it's going to go away, do you think it's going to fail? It's already succeeding, and it's only going to get bigger and bigger. If you're thinking about excuses, I think that's a recipe for failure. Unless you have an absolute problem, you should be thinking about how you can use it. Adobe's Firefly and Photoshop's text2img are still not as good as they could be, but they will get better and better. The same goes for OPENAI and the rest of the market. I'm really curious to see how my favorite AFFINITY suite will develop in this situation.

I am affinity photo (mac) 1.8.1 user. I started using it since 1.8 appeared in the App Store. I would like to inform you of two problems found in 1.8. The first one is related to Layer Merge. Unlike in previous versions, there was a problem with Merge Selected in 1.8. If you select two or more layers and click this menu, the bottom layer is given priority, not the top one. This Merge Selected problem may or may not function properly. So when this happens I have to use the menu [Merge Visible]. * I have captured the relevant content as a video. Another problem occurs in the tab. [Sliders] is sometimes enabled by default. In this case, even if I change the option to [Wheel], which I usually use, I work for a while and then go back to the [Sliders] option. * I wanted to capture a video about this problem, but now it works again (it doesn't mean it's fixed in 1.8.1) Layer_Merge_&_Sliders.m4v

Some problems in the 1.7x version are still intact. First, the healing brush results appear late. 1.6x did not appear so late.
