  1. I'm having the same problem with Designer 2.5.5 on MacOS 14.5. I'm stacking 12 32-bit EXR files, 8k dimensions (3D renders). They're all linked and Status is "OK" according to Resource manager. The document ALWAYS opens blurry. I tried the zoom-in-zoom-out trick, that works (it refreshes to a sharp copy) if I select each linked file manually in layer manager one by one and then zoom. I have 128Gb ram, of which 100 free. When it opens the file, I can clearly see that Designer is not using enough ram to cache all of the linked files: only 1.4Gb. It uses up 6Gb after all the zooming and getting sharp links.
  2. Removing the printer in MacOS does bring back the Print dialog in Affinity. → This can't be a real solution though: I've printed tons of images with my current printer in Preview, Photoshop and Illustrator without the dialog disappearing... I'm not looking forward to continuously removing and adding my printer!
  3. Hi Mike, Resetting document and window states did not bring the print dialog back. I'm still seeing the same Console error showing that Affinity is trying to render a dialog with negative width: default 08:47:10.886250+0100 Affinity Designer 2 Affinity Store attempting to set illegal NSView geometry: width is negative <private> I'm on an M2 Mac Studio with 2 monitors, the issue also occurs with no second display connected or with a Studio preset that shows all windows on a single display.
  4. I have the same issue on Ventura 13.6.3, Designer 2.3.1. → I ran system console, filtered by Affinity, traced errors and I think that the dialog is being set with a negative size value, causing an exception: default 10:05:06.283421+0100 Affinity Designer 2 Affinity Store attempting to set illegal NSView geometry: width is negative <private> There is a full printout of function parameters after that, with hints of the printing process. So I think that's the bug. Can somebody at Serif look at the attached log? error log.txt
  5. The "swipe left on Home Screen" is worse than it was before: it's not discoverable and you still can't pick a destination for your file prior to saving it. To make matter worse, v2 creates a new folder in iCloud with the exact same name as v1, but it will be empty. → Right now the only solution is to create blank.afdesign anywhere in your cloud storage, and to duplicate it before opening it on iPad to choose where a file end up... Or do the old save > move in Files all > close in Affinity > reopen new destination in Affinity...
  6. Are you running the latest 1.10.1 iPad update?
  7. Has this issue been fixed in the 1.10.1 update?
  8. Hi Sean, I can confirm that the issue is gone after reboot. The device was new and hadn't been rebooted in one week. Thanks for following up! Sander.
  9. The buttons of the interface can almost not be tapped on M1 12.9 iPad pro. Only the very bottom edge is tappable. for instance the 3 persona buttons, or the “back to browse” buttons at the top left when you’re editing a document. prefs screen says version 1.9.9, iPadOS 14.5
  10. Thanks you for your input Feste! Grazie per il tuo contributo Feste!
  11. I'm looking for input building a library of texture styles that are easy to apply to your design. And that don't make the files size too big. So I'm using small tiling (repeating) bitmap fills. There are 2 ways to build and apply the style library, can you tell me which you prefer? I recorded a video to show you the difference: https://vimeo.com/513749138. What do you think?
  12. Thanks sean! (Note that my affected brushes were installed using the My Account window)
  13. Hi, in Vector persona, when I try to edit one of the vector brushes (freshly downloaded using the new dialog), I see an empty edit menu overlayed on the brush. Screenshot attached. I’m on designer 1.9.3 on IPadOS 13.7 using iPadPro (original) 12.9” in Dark mode. thanks for checking! sander
  14. Hi there! I love designing with repeating patterns. Now I found a good workflow to design and apply repeating patterns in AD. I recorded a tutorial that shows you how to design them, build a style library and apply patterns. They blend nicely with color fills using blend modes. The pattern and the color fill are in one shape, so no duplicates! --> https://vimeo.com/443692483 If you prefer the short explanation: I design vector patterns in a separate document using symbols to get the tiling right, export as bitmaps, use bitmap fills to build up a Style Library and apply those in drawings on iPad and desktop.
  15. Still no Affinity sub brushes editor on iPad almost half a year after launch of this feature?
  16. I can't import .afstyles from DropBox or iCloud in Designer 1.7.2. Files are greyed out. This seams to happen when you don't have Affinity Photo installed.
  17. I also can't import .afstyles from DropBox or iCloud in Designer 1.7.2. Files are greyed out like Chris says.
  18. .Afstyles file are not accepted with airdrop (no associated app found) and can't be imported using the styles window (tested DropBox and iCloud) (iOS 10.3, Designer 1.7.2). Tested in pixel and vector persona's. --> I'm pretty sure this happens only when you don't have Affinity Photo installed on iPad, something is wrong with file type associations on Designer. --> Need a fix for this!
  19. I'd like to upvote this feature: automatic 2-way cloud sync between iPad and desktop would be great. Amazing mobile app btw. I'm switching from the "Graphic" app, but Designer on iPad is next level.
