I am pretty sure all those color checker special tools and applications are basically LUT transforms.     So my guess the existing LUT filter  in Affinity could do  exactly same.   You floodfill a photo of your checker with what  color values  it supposed  to  show.  I have  those values printed  on backside of my $10 noname carton checker from China. And then use this corrected image as a target picture  for  building  LUT preset  with maximum quality  slider .

    Seems like working   for me

    They're not LUT transform.

Calibrate/X-rite allows you capture a colour profile that can then be matched from camera (or multiple cameras) to computer/screen to printer accurately. You can add a LUT or filter on afterwards, but if you shoot product, you need colour accuracy.

The fact that Affinity hasn't addressed this is (is it 5+ years?) deeply saddening. I've had to shift to lightroom (which I f*^king hate).

I wouldn't even mind paying for it!! Affinity Photo 2 with Calibrate support!!

    Maybe in another five years?

  2. I haven't been on the forums for a while, so I thought I would check out this thread as I consider it to be the most important issue with Photo. It would appear that nothing has moved.

I still use Publisher (and Designer a little), but I'm about to start a contract for several hundred PAK shots and without the X-rite/Calibrate integration similar to Lightroom, I'm going to have to use Lightroom. And I hate Lightroom.

It's now been such a long running request, the company has changed hands....

We have the same problem, when opening older publisher files in 1.9.0 with linked content (images / vector pdfs). The only way around we found, is to make the location with the linked content unavailable (diconnect the fileseerver where they are stored). Than the file opens but we have to relink everything by hand. That is horrible.

Beside this is the new publisher is unbelieveable slow. Are they going to fix it?

Where can we download the older version?

    Thank you for your respond.

    Hi

Have you had any response on how to re-install the previous version yet? I'm desperate.

I have tried a lot of things, nothing helps:

Reduced the contents of my  file and deleted nearly all of the pics etc in it.

In my opinion the  problem seems to be, that there is a conflict between affintiy and Mac´s Big-Sur (perhaps Memory-Handling)

I hope, the problem ca be solved soon. Meanwhile i have to use the 1.8.-version.

How do you re-load the earlier version?

This kind of a job could easily be done using Adobe Acrobat Pro by "push of a button", and it would most probably work well for size reduction. I just tested this with a 52-page magazine and the size was reduced to appr. one third of the original using similar settings.

But doing this with Affinity tools is more difficult as there would most probably be scaling problems.

EDIT: If you can deliver this publically and do not have Acrobat Pro, I can do the conversion for you, if you wish...

That would be very kind Lagarto. Let me have a tinker first and see if I can get the size down. Regards K

  6. I've just produced a charity magazine in Publisher and being from a print background I did it in A4. The problem is, it's not going to be printed, I'm selling it from my web site as a download only, to read on iPads or home computers. The issue is it's to big, 96 pages, to download from my site without going through some major backend changes. So, what i thought was, wouldn't it be great if I could just resize everything from A4 to A5... you can see I'm grasping at straws here.

Is there a way of converting the entire document from A4 to A5 at the push of a button?

    Help ...please...

  7. Hi,

I'm currently producing a set of role-playing rules that I've split into chapters of 10-20pp each. I did this initially because Publisher (and probably my ancient machine) couldn't handle the file sizes, so it was easier to break it down into more manageable clumps. Now I'm close to completion, I'm looking at how best to join them all together. It's not just for the printing, I'm trying to make sure all my text style match and page number run correctly. Any suggestions from the panel?

  8. Being able to use X-rite colour passport is one of the most important features for me and needs to be addressed by Affinity. I shoot a lot of product shots and colour management is vital. I also use the X-rite system for everything else because of the unparalleled of colour control it gives me. I moved to Affinity Photo to support anyone who isn't adobe, but this is a feature I must have, otherwise I have to add yet another piece of software to use the colour/lens/camera profiling into the mix instead of being able to sort it all out under one roof.

Seriously Affinity, please address this very real problem in the new version.

  9. HI, because of the memory issues that I seem to be getting with Publisher, I've done what people on the forum suggested and started splitting my book by chapters (I should say this is a very graphic intensive document), however, at some point I'm going to want to join some or all of them together. Is there away of doing this?

Also, is there away of exporting paragraph and character styles into another document?

    Regards

  10. Hi,

If this already exists, please forgive me, but for the sort of table top games design I do, this would be extremely useful. Is there a hex tool? Hexagonal shape tool? Or is there a way to modify the Polygon Shape tool?

Also, there is a grid tool for designers, how about a hexagon background tool for designers.

As I said, it may exist and if it does, please point the way.

    Regards
