  1. Yes, using a custom palette. Did go in and try standard palette with same issue. However, if I use the color wheel, then it will add noise.
  2. I have had a couple of crashes when adjusting the noise. Assuming it might be related. I can copy / paste into the Photo Beta and add noise and then copy back. Kind of weird. I know that I have been able to add noise before on this last beta, because there is some in my current project, but not sure how / why it stopped.
  3. I am having trouble with adding Noise on radial or elliptical fills. (not on solid) I can move the slider for a specific color, but the noise is not added on the preview (as it has before) and when I click out of the dialog and open it back up, the noise level is not there. I can't imagine what I am doing differently than before....
  4. I know I used to do this in PaintShopPro, but I am lost as to how to achieve the same in Affinity Photo. I have greyscale images, for example, a frame that has transparency set in the middle. I am wanting to overlay a photo on top (digital scrapbook paper design, such as polka dots) on top of it, and blend the two together. The problem I'm having is that I can't get the exact edges chosen with the transparency (is there an opacity selector?) Then if I use Filter / Apply Image, I still have to erase what is outside of the selection. Then I can begin the blending process. On some objects, however, I couldn't even get a good selection due to the partial transparency of the edges. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
  5. I thought of another big thing I miss from CD - being able to put text in a shape box (distort the shape, say into a circle) while still keeping it text. PDF - have sent invites to printer with bleed, etc with no problems. As far as what AD does that CD doesn't, would have to think about that now as it's been awhile since I've bee in CD, and it's much easier to remember the things that I CAN'T do, than the new things that I've gotten used to using. :-)
  6. Although I'm not professional, I have used CorelDRAW for many years, and in fact, having no reasonable alternative to CD was my hang up for switching to a Mac - which I finally did two years ago. I do a lot of graphic hobbies, plus work for friends and family (posters, invitations, etc.) Some of the biggest things I miss are: Contour/Offset, manually tweaking the kerning on artistic text, and being able to add a bitmap transparency. On the other hand, there are a lot of things AD does that CD doesn't.... Hands down the best Mac Vector program out there, and I think I tried everything with a free trial!! The forum is great also, a lot of helpful people out there! If your are on a Mac - definitely go for the free trial. I think you will be convinced!
  7. Does Affinity Photo have the option to add bleed? If not, and I start a file in Designer with bleed, then move to edit it as an afphoto file, do I lose the bleed?
  8. Ctrl+Shft+V or from Edit Menu: Paste Style Would like to see the options as to what you paste (stroke, fill, shadow, etc)
  9. Would love offset to work like that!!!!!
  10. Has anyone else had trouble with borderless printing? It expanded the document way off the page, so that about 1/2" or more was lost all the way around.
  11. Is there a way to organize assets within a category, other than by order they were added? (obviously, name would be great, or other?)
  12. I am trying to update both Designer and Photo with the MAS this morning. For some reason, when I click on the updates, I just get the spinner. I've tried deleting my Updates folder and restarting the App Store. Any other suggestions? Always get the same results.
  13. +1 CorelDRAW aspects There are still a lot of things I miss from CD, having switched to Mac. SO thankful to have AD as it is so much better than any other affordable vector app for OS X. But there are still a few things that leave me "looking over the fence" So waiting patiently. (ok, maybe not always patiently) Looking forward to the new beta release, hopefully soon.
  14. I use the offset / contour very often for crafting, cutting vinyl, etc. Expand stroke is a workaround, but a hassle. :-)
  15. In CorelDRAW I was used to being able to quickly alter a color by clicking on the shape, then holding down CTRL, and clicking on the color I wanted to add to the current color. see: http://www.coreldraw...ll-in-coreldraw This is handy for quick adjustments, and will be even more so useful once we get the mesh fill.
  16. Thanks MEB, I was unaware of this. I do like the adding a little at a time to the object better, so will add it to the requests. :-)
