  1. Strange one - double clicked on a text frame, frame filled entire screen as expected. Reverted back to the full page - no problem Then clicked on the frame I should have done first time and got well have a look in the attached video, not sure if it is the document or the application but it doesn't look correct to me. 2. Just had the publisher crash when spellchecking a document - program recovered with no loss to the document. If you want a copy of the document please let me know. Thanks Giles AP version 1.7.2 on OSX 10.14.6 Affinity publisher crash
  3. you can - I am sure on one of the betas when I tried it you ended up with multiple pictures in the same frame. I blame it on the heat..... Thanks Giles
  4. I find myself laying out documents with a good number of pictures all locked into picture frames for the layout. Now there comes a time (in most documents) when you insert a picture and it is the wrong one... Would it be possible to have a right click option to clear picture frame, otherwise it is a case of trying to work out which thumbnail in the layers panel (incidentally can those thumbnails be made bigger) you are looking at, expanding the layer frame and then selecting the picture and hitting delete. Thanks Giles
  5. Yes it was a canon mg3053. i know I was pushing the limit of the program but it is a lot cheaper to run for overprinting that the canon pro-1 sitting next to it
  6. My publisher session just crashed out - I've attached the file that was open (very simple) and the crash report. Don't really think it is down to the document as it only has 6 words on an A4 page using a single font! Trying to print the file resulted in a crash - strangely it printed once the wrong way round on the paper and then started working after an application restart. Thanks affinity publisher crash EATOC Cover sheet overprint.afpub
  7. How do you not know that you are all colour blind and I am seeing things correctly ? and how do you know what other people see compared to your own vision?
  8. It sounds odd to a lot of people, but it is the case. A cat5 (Ethernet) cable has 4 solid colours and 4 stripes. They are red blue orange and green, or to me red blue orange and orange. As I am a network engineer it can be an issue. grass is a completely different colour to plant leaves which are mostly green. the intensity and shade makes a difference, the brightness of the green traffic light bleaches all the colour from it. Green, brown, orange wiring is a nightmare and as for a resistor colour code.... you have to adapt, hence why there is a spyder5 on the Mac, and an expensive Calibrated colour printer. The pictures look odd to me but everyone else things they are great... it is a strange (to you lot) world I see but for me it is the same way I have seen things for 46 years
  9. That is interesting - as I am very colourblind - I see in colour but it is shifted all over the place. Grass is orange. UK Traffic lights are Orange, Red, White (from top) - there are so many forms of colour blindness that it is very difficult to predict how it would be seen. What looks good to someone with RED/GREEN won't work for those with Blue/Green vision - so just (in my opinion) make sure the text is a clear shade from the background and the colourblind will have to deal with it!
  10. Easy open both documents Go to original CMD-A (or CTRL-A) This selects everything on the current spread. CMD-C (CTRL-C) Change to new document CMD-V (CTRL-V) Copies everything over - even works if the documents aren't the same size - but you will have some work to do then....
  11. What do you mean no CR3 support? Affinity Photo 1.7.1 with a CR3 taken from my EOS R this afternoon (which I need to correct the exposure on as it is slightly overdone)
  12. iMatch is no good to us OSx users as it is windows only....
  13. Since the start of the year I have been using publisher to do a monthly club magazine, as the layout is simple and all the text held in remote documents a crash wouldn’t affect me much
  14. A quick workaround, add another row to the bottom of the table, change the height on the Second from bottom row (ie where your content is) delete the bottom row There might be a better way but this will work
  15. What a strange opinion. Taken to its conclusion we can only assume the author does not own any books, reads any physical magazines or newspapers, or even buy fish and chips...... (looks round room) I can see about 30 magazines (photography, cars, sci-do) several hundred books, bills, letters operating manuals, framed photos and a box of tissues all of which are made of paper. And outside is a recycling bins full of newspapers and surplus flyers. paper is fully recycled and my newspapers will potentially come back to me in a few weeks when the new ones are printed. each to their own but it seems a strange opinion to me
  16. Hmm same problem for me as digicam - CR3 files display as an Affinity photo thumbnail - but hit quick lock and the file is generated properly. However trying to go through a folder of images that look like this - isn't going to be much fun.... and when I first bought the camera I was doing raw + jpeg
  17. Reading about digikam made me go and have a look, all very impressive until I found it doesn’t support the cr3 raw files that my Eos R produces. Which OS X does in the operating system raw library.... and the affinity photo beta does another one off the list to look at...
  18. Hmm I need to check these out Rawpower looks good - apart from the lack of keywords / built in database. Picktorial - $5 per month or $70 without updates - bit too close to the adobe subscription model for me. But I will have a look and see what they offer. Converting to DNG - it only really puts off the fact that Aperture will stop being supported at some point so I have to move away finally. Thanks Giles
  19. Ah well if you can name a non adobe product that can convert to DNG maybe. But I don't want anything to do with Adobe on any of my computers (this includes acrobat, flash, photoshop, Lightroom etc) and certainly don't want software subscriptions. Even though for work I have too (well until I can upgrade an application or two)
  20. I'm now looking for a replacement for Aperture as I have upgraded to a new Canon EOS-R and aperture doesn't support the RAW format that it produces... There are a lot of poor apps on the market out there - that people want some serious money for. My primary concerns are indexing, cataloging, basic adjustments (Straighten, exposure etc) and ideally non-destructive editing (or at least automatic versioning)
  21. I just reproduced it you can see in the video - I selected the text in the email Switched to affinity did a paste - got white text then selected the text and changed it to black Doesn't do it everytime though Screen_Recording_2019-04-27_at_22_19_32.mov
  22. OK I started with an article written in Publisher and wanted to use the text to go onto a website. So into the article and Cmd-C, swap to Smultron and Cmd-V. It looks fine in the text editor but when I open a preview there are lots of junk characters. It looks like the text is copied with a lot of formatting codes for commas, Start of lines, end of lines etc. I would have thought the copy would just be plain text work going to other programs?
  23. Hmm just quickly tried in a new document and it appears to work - looks like my machine had a strange problem as I can't reproduce it! Definitely doing it before...
  24. Paste without formatting does work, but it doesn't help when the email is already formatted as you want to put it in the page.... (i.e. bold, italic etc)
