is Crop to selection possible
koskow replied to stinkykong's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (Mac and Windows)
@traildriver I noticed that as well and was going to make a video to see if anyone was experiencing that aside from me. Thanks for saving me the time of having to do that. I did notice this: If you click the Reset button, you can click and drag again. -

I'm wondering if this is the expected result from Refine selection. I've included a video, but I'm wondering if this isn't a bug? Process: Selection Tool --> Refine --> Paint with Matte brush (Matte edges selected) --> Output --> New Layer with Mask --> Hide the mask. The new layer seems to have been destroyed (old layer is not touched, as expected) I would think that after going through the process, I would be able to touch up the mask, but the new layer is so ruined, that I can't use any of the area that I would unmask. I am able to move the mask to the old layer and touch it up there, be the new layer isn't good. Video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14dkQlwMszAn0vPi7hnB7MbQF_WzP3IpR/view Thanks!

Is there an option to make guides from a selection? You can easily have a crop snap (manually dragging that is) to a guide. I haven't been able to get a crop to snap to a selection box... would eliminate that step if I could. Anyways, what I am doing is making a selection, snapping guides, snapping a crop, hitting enter. works on a 4 sided shape, but not an irregular or circular shape. Document --> clip canvas also kind of get's me where I'm trying to go sometimes... I would love a crop to selection option as well however... just to throw my name in the hat.

I'm having some troubles with the Define option under the wand tool... still having a photoshop --> photo learning curve. Anyways, this is my first Affinity Photo manipulation. Starting to get the hang of it. If anyone is willing to walk me through some advanced methods for defining masks, please let me know.
