Thanks so much for the reply! That works for the selection which is great, but I can’t figure out the second part where he deletes the selection, no layers are deleted! I’ve attached the file I’m working on if that helps, he deletes the selection whilst mountain 2 is selected. If I do that (hit the trash can) then I delete the mountain 2 layer!?!?! Hey guys, Probably being completely dumb (nothing new) I’m following a tutorial (link below) at around 41 mins, he clicks on the layer and gets the marquee selection automatically. If you watch the video you’ll see what he’s doing and why, I of course want to do exactly what he’s doing so delete the selection as well. if anyone can help that would be great! It’s a great tutorial btw, learning loads! .

Ahhhhhhhh, so annoying the little differences between this and the desktop version! I really need the ability to export the selection area or selection only! All good on the desktop version! On the iPad version you can only export all pages or the current page! So annoying! **edit** sorry I’m a complete doofus, it’s completely possible, just didn’t see the options, didn’t scroll down! DOH!

Surely it has to be, what a handicap, makes no sense at all!

Hey guys, I can’t copy and paste from Designer 2 to Publisher 2 on iPad. Yet I can copy and paste from Vectornator to either of these apps! Something not right here!

Figured it may likely be an iPadOS 16 release when first announced, just a hunch, but I’d say definitely right. So my call is we see this within a month of now. I know iPadOS 16 is likely only days away, just giving my prediction some fat!!

Hi, unfortunately this does not seem to work in designer on the iPad in the same way, deleting only the nodes I draw a rectangle over does not seem to make a difference as all the black lines are deleted. See attached video. IMG_0780.MOV

Hey Guys, I’m sure this should be simple, but I just can’t make it work. All I want to do is erase the black border completely. I go into pixel mode, chose the erase brush and use a square brush to erase it. This creates a mask layer. Then no matter what option I choose merge, merge down, merge selected, rasterise etc etc the black border is still there when I bring it into publisher. Ideally I’d like to erase it on the same layer without a mask, I don’t really know the programme well but have always managed to work it out, but here I just cant!! What am I doing wrong? It almost feels like a bug with the merging. I have selected just the mask to merge as well as selecting everything with all options, but to no avail! evil robot.svg

I really plugged serif in the early days, not so much now, no comms, basic stuff missing. I feel they don’t care to much about there customers! And yes, right now I need a ruler in designer!

I’m wondering if any features may be iOS 16 dependant? Maybe that’s why the delay?

I just don’t understand why Serif have been so silent on this! I actually think it’s a little disrespectful to a loyal fan base! For such a long time they have given us absolutely nothing! I don’t see why all the silence / secrecy. I’m sorry but it just can’t be that bigger deal to at least bring your customer base along on a journey with you! Does not need to be specifics, anything would have been great. Many companies do this and likely foster much more gratitude amongst there customers!

Ahha! Just realised I got an answer in a completely different post previously! Just use erase white paper in filters! Job done! ****ok, so this does not work, it still leaves a dirty background!! Any ideas?****

Hey guys, Anyone aware of an easy way to clean up this dirty white background i.e. can I make it pure white? Using affinity photo.

iPad Pro is absolutely my main device. Editing a lot more raw photos, the ability to edit a batch of photos would be awesome. I believe macro studio would allow me to do that! Can you bring it across?

Hey All, I have a question around refining selections. The example attached is pretty simple as it’s mainly a single colour, though it is very slightly lighter at very edges. I want to cut it out from the white background, I chose the select sample colour tool. It looks like it gets a perfect selection (other options appear to do the same). But when I then select it and copy it onto a black background you see all the imperfections against the black background. Is there a way to sort of ‘shrink’ the selection by a few mm’s so you in effect cut into a little thus removing the fringing imperfections? I’ve noticed before on something more complex, say a person in a photo, you always get this fringing. Unless I’m using it wrong, the refinement tool does not appear to refine to that level. I’m hoping there is some way to achieve this. Would be amazing, especially with the more complex selections! fuck cancer 2.afphoto

Ok, figured it out. Only thing is, it does not open RAW photos into the develop persona. You can then select the persona, but the image looks already processed, very different to opening the app first add then opening a RAW file. But still great for non RAW, so much appreciated!

Thanks for the link to this. I’m either dumb as, or maybe something has changed in iOS 15 as it’s not working for me. I’ve posted the issue in the original post. Just thought that might be cleaner 😀

Hi Guys, Running iOS 15, as soon as soon as I hit step 5, the high lighted section is added automatically. Then in photos when I say hey Siri “photo” it just responds with a “done” reply. Am I missing something? Looks so simple!

Hi All, sure this must have been requested before, but why do we not have an action from the photos app to edit in affinity photo? Man it would make life Soooooooo much easier! Is this so hard?

Personally, I don’t see why companies need to be so secretive about this kind of thing! If you’re here you’re likely a loyal customer and genuinely want something. I wish affinity would play ball a little! It’s not endearing me towards them. I have been a big pusher of affinity to work colleagues and friends. But this kind of brush off just makes me feel less close to them. It’s simply just a transaction and we’re just a customer. They could be getting us excited and sharing a few things, but no! nothing!

Would also love an update on publisher for the iPad, especially with my new M1 powered pro on the way!!
