Chris B reacted to a post in a topic: Is this feature not doable Re: Beta>Photo>iPad Pro

Success! I did a hard reboot on all open apps, then rebooted the iPad and clicked on Saliency first, came back to it after running Benchmark and it did it. Then retried Segmentation no activity displayed that it was running but came back to it and the screenshot shows its all been completed. Thank you for allowing me to unconfuse myself. š

I've installed Beta versions on both my laptop & iPad and noticed in Photo on the iPad that in settings Machine Learning Models that Install shows on both Segmentation & Saliency but, clicking Install doesn't do a thing. It did on my MacBook Air Laptop. So is this feature not doable on the iPad? My iOS is 18.1.1 By the way, to all who celebrate... Happy Thanksgiving!

I just noticed your response Paul. Thank you!

Thank you carl123⦠I thought I had read through enough of the titles to see if this issue had been brought up before. I figure my eyes went into autopilot and just didnāt see this. It appears thereās been nothing updated or as of yet, fixed. Oddly enough the issue no longer seems to be haunting me as it was yesterday. I rebooted the iPad and saved everything to cloud so maybe this fixed it? Iāll keep this open for now, just to see if it resurfaces.

While designing a friendās bands gig flyers, after he suggested a couple of tweaks, I took care of them and after exporting the image as png to Save Image to Photos. I then clicked on the Home arrow to save it. He then asked for my repeating an effect he liked in another piece of text. When I reopened the flyer, the image had reverted to what it was before I did the tweaks. This was definitely something new! Thankful I had exported the image to use as a guide to redo what I had done plus the additional fx Layer from his request. Once again, repeated the previous steps finalizing closing the image to Home. After he received approval from the club, my next step was using most of the elements from the flyer into a Facebook Cover Photo. Upon reopening it, once again it had reverted into what it was before the tweaks! WTF!!?š¤ This has never happened before. Everything is current; iOS, Designer, iPod pro 12.9

Bryan, thank you! Oddly, I didnāt receive an alert that you had responded. Hence my just now noticing this.

At first I thought, maybe itās the font? Tried different fonts. The image isnāt showing up in the text. Iāve looked at some current YouTube videos and followed their tutorials and something has stopped working for me. HELP!

I think I found the culprit! Grammarly! This seems to be causing me more issues than itās worth having. I use an app called Dashlane for my slew of passwords and it had been working just fine till an update, possibly an iOS update. Where when adding a new password the window would open but then it wouldnāt allow any text to be added. So this prompted a hard quit on the app.

DM1, Thank you for responding. I tried the hard reset. Then I deleted both Designer & Photo. Didn't help. As well, lost all of my prior work! Next time I need to make sure I've saved the work in the cloud, thought I had. Damn it! Anyway, the problem still happens.

Everything is current, iPad 12.9ā Designer, iOS, etc. No external keyboard. When adding text and attempting to delete a letter or word it's as though I'm holding the delete backspace down, I'm not. The words before the deleted word or letter start deleting till it ends. This has happened with Photo too. This just started happening! It's driving me crazy. I've since been making sure I've copy-pasted the words before doing any kind of editing now too. I hope this is clear in your understanding of what is happening.

Greetings from Sonoma, California! Hello everybody my name is Michael. Iām an avid iPad Pro along with their Pencil user and happily, well, more than actually, an Affinity Photo enthusiast. Iām disabled with very short time spans sirring, standing & walking the iPad became my champion boosting me out of great bouts of despair after learning with each failed attempt at creating art was being met with frustration due to the physical limitations. From physical to digital with a very bossy kitty in between, even the laptop proved to be cumbersome, too hot and heavy I almost gave up till the iPad. The small fortune spent on styluses too, such a wasteful endeavor till Appleās superbly stupendous Pencil hit the market when my dreams became reality. Then Affinity Photo came to the iPad and holy guacamole! I feel like a super hero along with my Phineas J. Whoopy board (carton image below) and everything seems more than achievable now. The logo is from using Procreate & AP. I have to say that one of my favorite things about Photo is when isolating an image from its background that the borders are actually around the images edges so everything in The FX section is shown on that image rather than in some cases only the original border around the image is showcasing the attributes. (Valentineās Day image with wings attached below) Another cool image happened with an isolated Art Nuevo frame and how in AP the frame is able to showcase its edges in 3D (image below) Yea, so thatās my story and Iām sticking with it.

The more Iām learning how to use iOS Photo the more Iām finding my way into creating like Iāve never created before and itās grand! Thank you so much for your apps! I cannot wait to see whatās in store for the iOS version of Design and more. Thereās been a bit of a learning curve for sure and some of the actual technical wordings a bit time consuming locating what Iām trying to accomplish, but this forum and the videos have been a stupendous help once I let go of prior knowledge and start, well... shit! No I lost my train of thought. I do manage to find what Iām looking for and Iām thankful. Keep up the great work you guys!
