    Introduce Yourself

Greetings from Sonoma, California! Hello everybody my name is Michael. I’m an avid iPad Pro along with their Pencil user and happily, well, more than actually, an Affinity Photo enthusiast. I’m disabled with very short time spans sirring, standing & walking the iPad became my champion boosting me out of great bouts of despair after learning with each failed attempt at creating art was being met with frustration due to the physical limitations. From physical to digital with a very bossy kitty in between, even the laptop proved to be cumbersome, too hot and heavy I almost gave up till the iPad. The small fortune spent on styluses too, such a wasteful endeavor till Apple’s superbly stupendous Pencil hit the market when my dreams became reality. Then Affinity Photo came to the iPad and holy guacamole! I feel like a super hero along with my Phineas J. Whoopy board (carton image below) and everything seems more than achievable now. The logo is from using Procreate & AP. I have to say that one of my favorite things about Photo is when isolating an image from its background that the borders are actually around the images edges so everything in The FX section is shown on that image rather than in some cases only the original border around the image is showcasing the attributes. (Valentine’s Day image with wings attached below) Another cool image happened with an isolated Art Nuevo frame and how in AP the frame is able to showcase its edges in 3D (image below) Yea, so that’s my story and I’m sticking with it.
  2. The more I’m learning how to use iOS Photo the more I’m finding my way into creating like I’ve never created before and it’s grand! Thank you so much for your apps! I cannot wait to see what’s in store for the iOS version of Design and more. There’s been a bit of a learning curve for sure and some of the actual technical wordings a bit time consuming locating what I’m trying to accomplish, but this forum and the videos have been a stupendous help once I let go of prior knowledge and start, well... shit! No I lost my train of thought. I do manage to find what I’m looking for and I’m thankful. Keep up the great work you guys!
  3. I’ll check out their version. Thanks for suggesting DaFont.com... right now they’re undergoing maintenance. Well son of a gun... that worked! I had to remove everything prior though. The odd thing is how pixelated it looks. In Graphic not at all but in Photo, it’s strong Thank you!
  4. I’ve noticed a select few of fonts that are being recognized in another app I use along with Photo on the iPad Pro are not being recognized in Photo. I’ve done the whole starting with Fonteer or FontManager then the complete process of selecting then adding into Profiles thing and I use Autodesk Graphic or actually Indeeo’s Graphic for iPad too and both apps Graphic & Photo use the same library of fonts except like I said at the beginning some are not being shown in Photo. I’m curious as to why this is and what I can do about this. The one work around I do use is copying a word I’ve created in Graphic then pasting it into Photo, it’s just odd that this is happening. Anyone else having this issue as well?
  5. If you have Autodesk Graphic you can do this then copy paste it to Photo and the text is editable by the fx section. As per the attachments. So far this is my work around for the iPad Pro. I wish to add that the font isn’t editable so try to figure out your needs and size prior to bringing over to Photo. The radius is editable by the corner selections though.

    Curved Text

I was trying to find out how to add text to a path using AP on the iPad. This happens to be in the section for iPad yet from what I’ve read and comprehended so far this doesn’t belong here. Is there a way to do this on the iPad? Autodesk Graphic offers this, calling it Placing Text On Path. By creating an ellipse selecting text and shape together then choosing this feature. Instant! I’m hoping on doing more using Affinity Photo.
