  1. sRGB is the better option. In most cases, your monitor, your clients, and most printers are set in a sRGB color space. So if you work in Adobe RGB and then send out to you final destination that is set for sRGB you colors may (especially the greens) will look not only different but could turn out muddy or just not pleasing. Adobe RGV is vastly superior to sRGB, but if your final output in on that color space you may end up with less than expected results. Think of it this way. You can't put 16 ounces of liquid into an 8-ounce glass. So in short if your monitor and final output (client, printer, and/or monitor) is not Adobe RGB then you may not get the results you want. Just use sRGB and you will be fine.
  2. Agreed. We desperately need updates to AF and AD. To make it a little more intuitive and add new features to keep it competitive.
  3. Quark is an amazing tool. But I so disagree with your statement "...Affinity isn't capable of. It's cheaper for a reason." I do pro work with Affinity Photo everyday. It has completely make Photoshop obsolete in my workflow. remember it is more the artist than the tool that makes final product.
  4. If you are happy with Quake (which I vastly like better than InDesign), I would just keep using that. It is very hard to keep two competing programs in sync, and to be honest I would expect 98.245% of the people here would rather see APub come out sooner and have more features than spend the same time making it compatible with other software.
  5. I am not sure you realize what a code nightmare that would be. Let alone the amount or resources it would take to keep it updated. I am sure we are going to get a very nice product for the one time buy price, What more could you ask for?
  6. Will the Windows version be co-released with the Apple version?
  7. I would love to own Quark express, but can not afford the full price. I do not see Affinity Publisher coming to windows any time soon, so I am a looking for a solid affordable option that i can do paper and web publications that includes professional printing with proper images and colors.
  8. To bad I would get PagePlus as temporary patch until Affinity Publisher comes out if Serif let it be an upgrade path. So with no reason to stick with Serif for a publishing solution, would Xara Page & Layout Designer be the best Windows under $300 choice?
  9. While you will not be able to import the file into Affinity Publisher. Neither will you if you get tired of waiting and move to a different product. My idea is to get people that need a desktop punishing program now, with a monatary upgrade path to Affinity Publisher. So say you buy PagePlus X9 is now for $30. then when Affinity Publisher comes out you just pay the difference and you stay a customer. Any other scenario they will either have people complain poisoning the product, or just leave for another software solution. @MikeW- Is Scribus a worthwhile compromise? i have not tired it.
  10. Tempting. But if I buy that, there will be no getting Affinity Publisher
  11. Affinity, never should have announced Publisher, we all know that. I hope they leaned from this mistake, so how should they proceed? First of all giving a false date will only make people more upset, so they started out right by saying when it is done. But one way soothe their mea culpa would be to start to give monthly production updates. That way people can see progress, and know things are actually being done. Are they right? ;)
  12. Since windows users (maybe Apple too) are not going to see Affinity Publisher for a long time, why not make a special purchase? For the suggested price of what Affinity Publisher will be they give windows users PagePlus X9 to work with and then upgrade to Affinity Publisher for free (or priced adjusted from what they paid) when it is finally released? This way users that have no publishing software can do some projects without moving away from Serif. It will also give Affinity some capital to move this project along.
  13. What do I have to do to get pen pressure working? When I draw a line on my Surface Pro 3 the line stays the same even with changing how hard I press. Thanks
  14. I understand how to use Frequency Separation, but once you are finished how do you combine the two layers to get back to normal editing? Thanks
