  1. I have it working now. I used the help text in Publisher (see below). Then changed the Language specification in the Character panel and used Automatic Hyphenation setting in the Paragraph panel. I think I the format of my downloaded Hyphenation file was wrong. Managing hyphenation dictionaries Hyphenation dictionaries are included for most languages supported by Affinity apps, except for Chinese, Japanese and Russian. New hyphenation dictionaries can be downloaded and installed manually. To download a hyphenation dictionary: Go to LibreOffice's GitHub page. Select the folder for the required language. Select the file for the required hyphenation dictionary. Its name will be in the format hyph_xx_XX.dic, where xx_XX indicates the language's locale ID. Depending on the file's size, you will see either a Raw or Download button. Hold and click the button to download the hyphenation dictionary. If your browser appends an additional file extension, e.g. .txt, to the download's name, remove that extension so the filename ends with .dic. To install a hyphenation dictionary: In Finder, hold and select Go>Library. Open the Spelling subfolder. Create a subfolder and name it after the hyphenation dictionary's locale ID, i.e. where the dictionary's filename is in the format hyph_xx_XX.dic, the subfolder should be named xx_XX. Place the hyphenation dictionary in the subfolder. Quit and reopen Affinity Publisher. The newly installed dictionary is available in the Hyphenation pop-up menu in the Character panel's Language section.
  2. Hyphenation is not not working for Dutch in Publisher on my Apple computers. I use MacOS Big Sur version 11.6 and Mac OS Catalina version 10.15.7. My Publisher version is 1.10.1. When I use Pages it is possible to use hyphenation without installing and using the Hunspell dictionaries. All I have to do in Pages is to activate hyphenation, Klik on the Document icon on the toolbar (right side) and activate Hyphenation at the bottom. It works for Dutch and English, i only tried these languages. The Hyphenation dictionairies are already present in the Mac OS. Is it possible to use this option also in Publisher?
  3. Mine arrived 2 days ago (The Netherlands) and it was ordered 2 december.
  4. I have searched a bit more. The problem is that Publisher has problems with importing text containing glyphs (symbols). The unicode for the bullet symbol in Word is different (F0B7) from the code in Publisher (glyph G+2022 U+2022 BULLET). With File/Place the glyph code is changed to G+0000 that is the rectangle symbol. Sadly there is no way to convert to the correct Glyph code. The only option is to select the paragraphs with the bullets and correct it manually with Text Styles / Bullet 1, Bullet 2 or Bullet 3.
  5. It doesn’t matter witch font is used. The Bullet symbols are not recognized. I have added two examples, a word document and a publisher document where the word fiile is imported with File/Place. In the examples you can see that in the first paragraph the bullets are replaced by a rectangle symbol. The second paragraph is corrected with ”Bullet 2” style in Text Styles. You have to do this on every bloc or single lines with bullets. That is not what I want to do in lager file. The last paragraph with number is correctly imported. Publisher example.pdf Word document example.pdf
  6. I use Publisher version 1.8.6 on my Mac. With File/Place the word document (.docx) is visible and can be imported in a text frame. However the bullets of the bulleted list in word are not correct imported. They are replaced by a rectangle symbol .
  7. Thank you for the reply. I have emailed to affinityreturns@serif.com.
  8. Yesterday I bought the updates for Photo 1.7 and Designer 1.7 via the Serif Affinity shop. In the mail i received about the updates i had not seen that this was a free upgrade for existing users. I installed Photo 1.7 and Designer 1.7 on the Mac. Luckily i did not replace the existing versions.I now have an updated version 1.7 (1.6 -> 1.7, with the original configurations such as brushes, macros etc.) and a brand new 1.7 version of both programs. Can I have a refund for the € 87,98 I paid for he updates?
  9. I use an Mac Pro (2013) with Thunderbold display and Cinema HD and have the same problem. Your suggestions don't work.
