  1. Never mind. I figured it out after posting. Duh!
  2. Screen Shot 2017-03-26 at 2.49.44 PM.tiff When trying to install .afstyles into MAS 1.5.2 I get message saying the file is not an Affinity document. There was no problem opening the file into earlier versions. Is it that this new version no longer recognizes this file format?
  3. OK, Guys: This is intolerable! A few days ago I posted that suddenly the betas wouldn't open, saying "Requires Retail Version." I had purchased the retail version from the App store, and it was installed and working. It was a major job to get the betas to open again. The latest beta was identified as 1.5.2 (beta 6), but kept coming up as 1.5.2 (beta 5). Today I got a message from Apple that there was an update to the retail version 1.5.1, which was 1.5.2. I installed the update, and the retail app 1.5.2 is working fine. However, since installing the Apple update, the betas will not open. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the retail version from the App Store, moving a copy from Time Machine backups, etc., etc. I love the application, but I am now wondering if I should have gotten involved with it in the first place. If this continues I'll have to find an alternative to AP. Is this fixable, and if so, how? To recap: Retail Version 1.5.2 is installed and working. The betas (none of them) will open.
  4. I purchased and installed 1.5.1 from the app store quite some time ago. I have installed and used all Beta updates since then. Suddenly I can't open any of the Betas. I keep getting a message that the retail version must be installed, and I get bounced to the App Store. The app store shows AP 1.5.1 as previously purchased. I can open it from the app store and from my apps folder, list, etc. It is installed. How do I get back my usable version of AP 1.5.2 (Beta 5)? This is serious guys! What happened?
  5. ...or you can contact them on their website. They are really good about customer support, before and after sales. I know they would gladly answer any questions you may have. I get all my photo-related gear from them, and have always had great service.
  6. Sorry, Steve, but I'm not aware of the overseas shipping costs. I think B&H has a toll free line, and they can certainly tell you what it would cost. If you would like, I'd be happy to call them for you. Just let me know where in the UK you are located, and I'll forward the info to you.
  7. May be obvious questions, but have you given the battery enough time to charge? Into which port have you inserted the receiver? Have you run "Diagnose?"
  8. I think I'd be happy to, but "cheerful hats?" What are those?
  9. I don't know where you are, but Best Buy has that model on sale right now. I believe you can order it online. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?st=intuos+tablet&_dyncharset=UTF-8&id=pcat17071&type=page&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=&sp=&qp=&list=n&af=true&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960&keys=keys B&H has it in stock at the same price, also available online. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1002451-REG/wacom_pth651_intuos_pro_professional_pen.html Happy hunting. :)
  10. Got it! Thanks, Guys. I'm embarrassed . Duh - I guess I never thought beyond drag and drop, which doesn't work. Why I never tried copy/paste, or double clicking, I can't explain, other than for a gross lack of mental capacity. All those years wasted............. What a great place this is. So many folks always ready to help. Thanks again.
  11. Mike: I haven't yet checked the link you sent, but I found a number of sites via Google. It looks like the keystrokes are universal, i.e: Windows and Mac. This is a very extensive website: http://speakingppt.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/wingdings-webdings-character-map-speakingppt.pdf Thanks also for the info as to how to upload to the forum. I don't know why I didn't look there myself.
  12. Thanks, Mike. That is the type of chart in need, but I'm on a Mac, and the variety of Wingdings symbols in the font book is immense. Do you know of a chart for those symbols? I tried to attach a screen shot of some of them, but this forum won't accept any of the usual extensions I tried to use. I guess that is another question I'll have to submit. Thanks again.
  13. Is there a chart or list of which Wingdings symbol is bound to which key on the keyboard? In other words, how do I select one symbol from all of the Wingdings without having to press each key on the keyboard to find it? How do I distinguish the keystrokes for the various groups of Wingdings on the Fonts list? Where can I find a chart or list if such thing exists? Suppose I want to insert a right-facing arrow into a photo I am editing... Thanks for your help.
  14. Hi, guys. Thanks for your input, it's much appreciated. I understand about setting a white point and a black point. I just think the AP settings on the scales are counter-intuitive. Maybe it's just that old habits die hard. I used LR for quite some time, and if I remember correctly, all the sliders in the Basic and Tone Curve panels go left to right, dark to light. Pull a slider to the right and the image gets lighter, and vice versa. If you hold down the alt key, it allows you to set the white and black points. You pull a slider to the right, the image gets lighter, and you see where the light areas of the image are blown out, i.e: that is where you know that everything beyond there has no information, and you set the white point. Pull left to set the black point. Dark on the indicator means dark, light means light. Is it different in PS? I don't mean to sound pedantic. That's just the way I remember it. I could be wrong. I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast. :( BTW, Alex: That is a great tutorial by Steve Patterson. I agree with you that AP and other apps such as Luminar make PS obsolete, and I stopped updating PS and LR when Adobe went subscription. I'm in love with AP. Thanks again.
  15. Is it just me, or does anyone else find that the black and white slider controls in the levels adjustment panel of AP are in reverse orientation, i.e: if you pull the black slider to the right, where the scale shows it should be getting lighter, just the opposite happens - it gets darker. Same with the white slider - pull it left towards the dark side of the scale and it gets lighter. I understand that the scales are indicative of percentages of black and white, but I find this very confusing, and not at all intuitive.
  16. I have only recently begun using AP, and was just searching the forums for an answer to the very same question. I am using a 27" 2560 x 1440 monitor, so the UI should be larger than what appears on your monitors. However, I find them (icons and fonts) to be far too small. It's a shame there is no way to enlarge them beyond those changes available in Preferences. Why this option will not be made available to us is a puzzle to me.
  17. I opened my Affinity account yesterday, and everything was working fine. I tried repeatedly all day today to sign in, but was constantly faced with the message that there was something wrong with my e-mail address or password. I finally decided to try changing my password, and clicked on the link to do so. I never received the e-mail response from Affinity. Obviously I am having no problem signing into the Forums. What has happened? Has the website been shut down for New Year's day? Why can I not sign in?
