  1. Is there a way to convert photoshop actions to afmacros? Or is there a way to display the text of an action so that I can recreate it as a macro? I don't have access to PS anymore. Thanks for your assistance.
  2. Since my post on 17 November I have not been able to access the help file. Tonight I got an error message (see attached).
  3. When I "place" a background or other element, it comes in much much larger than the size of the image I'm working on. Then I have to decrease the size of the working image to almost nothing to be able to find the handles & downsize the "placed" element. Am I missing something? Dragging and dropping an image does the same thing. I have been watching the videos in between trying to work. There are enough differences in AP and PS to create a learning curve.
  4. I am a photo/collage artist - I use a lot of layers and files can get large quickly. Never an issue in PS. Today with a little over 20 layers the program stopped responding. It didn't crash, it just wouldn't let me do anything. Once I closed it, I couldn't open it. I had to shut down my entire system and reboot to be able to continue with my project. Last night this happened with about 10 layers. Even after restart the program would not start. I had to repair the program before I could use it. (Reinstall chose Repair option). This took some time and then I had to shut down the system again before I could work. I did not have this issue with the previous release.
  5. When I shut down and reopen the program, none of the things I had open , like rulers are visible. I have to reset everything. Is there a way to save a workspace?
  6. I am using Window 7 Professional / Dell XPS 8900 quad core i7, 16 GB memory, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 4GB graphics These Photoshop Plug-ins WORK for me: AKVIS - Art Suite / Art Work / Sketch Abstract Curves Anthropics Smart Photo Editor Auto FX - Auto Eye Gen 2 / Auto Magic Gen 2 / Dream Suite Ultimate Gen 2 / Mystical Gen 2 / PGE Gen 2 Nik Collection - Color Efex Pro 4 / Dfine 2 / HDR Efex Pro 2 / Sharpener Pro 3 (1 & 2) / Silver Efex Pro 2 / Viveza 2 Corel Particle Shop - it opens slow but it does work Topaz Labs - all their software Xycod Postwork Shop WHAT DOES NOT WORK - First let me say that I was very frustrated trying to locate the "Lock Transparency" in the Layers Palette - couldn't find it anywhere. After reading some MAC files I discovered it is attached to the brush tool & shows up as "Protect Alpha". Unless there actually is a "Lock Transparency" check box somewhere that I can't locate. I can do anything with a manual and I realize it will be here. In the meantime, the help file does not work on the most current release. ALIEN SKIN - Exposure X / Snap Art 4 - These plug-ins DO NOT WORK - this is what happens: I get the message "This filter requires editable transparency. Please turn off Lock Transparent Pixels in the Layers Palette." When I check okay I immediately get handed an error message: "An Unhandled Exception - etc. Code: ox800004003. On restart I see a crash report message that I assume is automatically forwarded. LUCIS PRO 6 - worked before the latest release but now nothing happens - no screens, no messages. FILTER FORGE 5 or 6 - creates this message: <class XFW::Argument Error>No window handle in filter record platform data. This filter does not crash the program after I check "ok"
  7. When I click on Help I get this & it doesn't go any further: Is the Mac training suitable for PC users as long as we know the key sequences (control rather than command, etc.)?
  8. Windows 7 Professional Dell 8900 16GB 64 bit I have been checking the plug-ins which I added. (I copied the contents of the Adobe plug-in folder to the Affinity plug-in folder). Program crashed twice - I'm assuming crash reports are being sent automatically, if not, let me know what you need. Alien Skin Exposure X Message "This filter requires editable transparency. Please turn off Lock Transparent Pixels in the Layers Palette." Before I could do that - a crash message appeared. POSITIVE - there is a great feature when the program is restarted to recover the file you were working on. This is fantastic. In Photoshop, the file is gone. Will be back with more details on the plug-ins I am checking. Luv luv luv this program!
