  1. Is there a limit to how much you can use in symbols? I'm having a hard time with symbols on 8 different sized artboards. Sphere for symbol contains an AP painted globe, that has a stroke with FX (set to resize). I "save as" multiple times and changing symbol. In AP I repaint the AP globe for the AD main symbol, then flipped AP globe in AD. Other symbols did update the AP flipped globe.

Most tutorials explain very symbol symbols.

Look carefully at the entry for the Paint Mixer Brush in your lower screenshot. Do you see the sharedshortcut.jpg.8ef8d01ced76708ba3bbca03ea78f7a1.jpg symbol there? Like I mentioned above, that means the shortcut is used by more than one tool. So like I said, you can hover the mouse pointer over that symbol & a popup will tell you which other tool also uses it. So once you know what other tool that is, you can remove its "M" shortcut.

That depends entirely on what other shortcuts you have set.

Nothing happens hovering over symbol. But I did set F8 for paint mixer brush & that works. Shortcuts and I just aren't working well.

For each one you want to remove, locate it in the list of Tool shortcuts & click the X in a circle button to remove its shortcut. Note that several tool shortcuts are used for more than one tool, indicated by a symbol that looks like this: sharedshortcut.jpg.8ef8d01ced76708ba3bbca03ea78f7a1.jpg. If you hover the pointer over it, a popup will tell you which other tools also use it.

Didn't work. I tried repeatedly X-ing marque tool. No deal M still selects it, not Paint Mix Brush. Is there any unused letter I can use for Paint Mix Brush? Shows a default for PMB, but can't click. aNothing for Marque tool. Appears to be stuck.

You should be able to download* the .DMG installer files onto your iMac, you won't be able to install them though due to the OS. Then you just transfer The DMG from the iMac to the Mini when you are ready to install them onto the Mini in a week or month from now.

I have done similar things with other software over the years, only works with DMG or Zip or Packaged Installers.

    * DMG installers are only available from the Serif/Affinity, store not the Mac App Store.

Super! I had planned to get from Serif/Affinity. Last time I got Publisher (only) from Mac App Store. It was a pain tracking all the upgrades and downloads.

  5. I know v2 doesn't work on Mojave.

What I wanted to know is whether I can order & download, and drag into Applications on my iMac – then transfer to Mini rather than upload to Mini when I get it.

The Mini will require a lot of setup and I don't know what will be working, but would love to have Affinity V2 in Applications ready to go.

We all know how challenging getting a new computer up to snuff is.

hardware you are using now (...CPU, RAM, OS etc.

      Model Name: iMac (late 2013)

      Model Identifier: iMac14,2

      Processor Name: Intel Core i5

      Processor Speed: 3.4 GHz

      Number of Processors: 1

      Total Number of Cores: 4

L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

      L3 Cache: 6 MB

      Memory: 32 GB

Corel Painter does a better job on brush work than AP. Still I prefer AP & AD. I use Hej stylus v3 when smoothes strokes more than AP stylus
