  1. This is just great!.. another imaginative artwork! and a brilliant example of the value AD has in mixing raster and vector...
  2. Sure. Thanks for looking into it...might help fix a few lag reported issues
  3. Hi @Dan C no Problem! A bit strange this one.. but Still!😀 Tested in Live and latest Beta (present in both versions) I have attached 2 files in the .zip Unfortunately I have been working on the file this morning and made some changes to get around the issue. Planet Conversion 07 02 Test.afdesign Is the modified version (I edited the object beneath so I could work on it!) All the elements from the video are still present Removed some elements in the planet stack and removed stroke settings (Pressure) Planet Conversion 07 Test File.afdesign Older file with issue still present (Just drag the orange bars) Object lag.zip
  4. Hi While working on some more planets [AD 2.0.4] I wanted to make use of the vector mesh warp to fold shapes around a circle | Sphere. So I created some simple rectangles and used the original planet shape as reference. However when I tried to drag the rectangles around I was getting lots of delay in the fill trying the catch up with the containing shape. (A very old bug I believe!) I needed the planets to be completely vector (Scaling and re-colour). Used Stroke Pressure to mimic a variable scalable stroke (So no need for raster edge!) I have been having issues with this particular file over last week. Initially I thought it was corrupt but having loaded into latest beta [AD 2.1.0.1732] and a bit more testing. It appears that the lagging of the overlaying rectangles is related to the objects beneath in the layer stack... I made a little video! Attempted to simplify the content of object beneath; Hide object ; draw rectangles in free space: all have some effect! any Ideas!...I can easily work around problem but it is a bit strange! Object Lag.mp4
  5. Brilliant.. and lots of work. I can relate to your comment about Artstartion! 😀
  6. I have been experiencing something similar recently. Not sure of the direct cause but I have been thinking it is something the do with the relative positions in the layers panel. You could try: Select the groupings and copy paste so that they are adjacent to each other in layers. Then regroup to see if solves it Could be to do with artefacts Could be to do with orientation A similar issue occurs when you can no longer draw on a raster object outside a bounding box Or When jumps occur when trying to group mixed (Raster | Vector objects). In this case I just rasterize the object!
  7. Fantastic! another small but efficient time-saving improvement. Feel the 'Balance' toggle could be a little more obvious (only because I couldn't see it.. without reading the notes!😀)
  8. I just set a brush to eraser and toggle between using the 'E' key only change brush when need a texture erase or similar Thanks for adding the ability to control the setting. Auto-scroll | Auto-Switch Category are useful options. but I was finding constantly switching between Brush an eraser with keys a little distracting (depending on the position of the Brush I had set to erase in the panel stack!)
  9. I thought you could.. 1. Select the Table Tool 2. Select all Cells 3. Assign your typeface (Using context bar) 4. Once finished assign the text formatting to a new style and name it. or 1. Create new Format (Just give it a name!) 2. Select all cells on left Display formatting panel 3. Assign a Style (defined or created 4. When you create a new table with table tool just assign the format
  10. Impressive.. More hair!... I thought you were giving up the hair!😀
  11. Hi You could have a play around with some of these options! Colour Apply colour overlay effects to the flower and de-saturate the colour + adjust the Opacity Apply a Re-colour adjustment and reduce the level of saturation Re-paint the plant itself with a newly sampled colour (Separate with selection or Protect alpha) Texture Adding noise to get the screen print effect would be a bit too fine There are a couple of things you could try: A. Add a texture overlay with file particles (Vector best) and set the opacity to low level (10-25%) Adjust colour for effect B. Add an overlay rectangle and apply the new feature: new Asset to Fill or Image to Fill options with scaling. Set Transparency low and adjust colours. Use Bitmap | Wrap and scaled to fit shape Scale using using adjustment layers (Grunge up with overlay mask) C. Apply a vector pattern overlay to whole image or Masked sections of the image D. Mix the lot!
  12. Could be a dynamics issue. The brushes are working but the Size jitter is at 100% for brushes that are already large Try adjusting the Dynamics individually for each brush. The brushes import Ok Into Designer but as far as I can see none are configured correctly...For brushes like the chains adjust the Rotation jitter until it appears as you require it
  13. TurbulenceOriginal Size 1000 x 400mm (upload size 2362 x 945px)Painted using Concept Painter Brushes and inkers.Again mixed raster and vector elements Planet Toolkit Turbulence with galaxy background and enhanced colours
  14. I missed this new feature update. Really useful... Good to see Warp being developed further. I was playing around with the possibility of creating a 'Planet Builder' Sketch Template using distortion and seamless patterns. In 2.04 adding a node to the Fish Eye Lens distortion caused AD to Crash (attempt to increase density of visible grid!). So been applying the same techniques in the Beta Version (No Crashes yet!)... Wondering whether there will be updates to the functionality of the mesh where you can: Add Nodes at mid-Points! (Especially Fish Eye!)..I found a work around by using 'Mesh' and applying reset to added grid nodes. Then manually distorting but a several step process. or Snap to Grid!
  15. Makes me thirsty...but worried it might turn me into Lucy from the film Lucy!
  16. Evening I have been trying to recreate the brush blanking that I have observed on 2 occasions now...I failed. However I appear to have exposed another issue with the new brush panel | Category list As video attached..it is very uninteresting (repetitive!) until the end where AD2.1 just crashes So Process I have been importing a few extra brush sets created in AD 2.04 and earlier into the latest Beta. Tonight I added PB 32 Comic Pencilling created last week! but I noticed that 1 of the brush names was missing (Grain Scatter 02) after 01 1. Duplicated random brushes and deleted through a number of different sets (Couldn't get a partial blanking of the set!) However.. 2. Repeated selection of a brush (So double click to open Brush Panel + Dynamics on random) causes the application to crash 3. I recorded the test to see if it is just a 1 off! As below 4. I haven't had an issue with this set in 2.04 yet! NB another experiment (maybe someone else could try this!) Added Frankentoon -Splat Inks Frankentoon -Splat Tones Dreamphotography and an older collection Frankentoon Texturizer (A-D) Repeat process: Couldn't get Ad to Crash using Frankentoon Splat INKS but with the older Frankentoon Texturizer crash occurred within a few repeated clicks! brush test.mp4
  17. Hi I never made all the brush sets available for download. Especially the later brushes. The Kit consists of a brush set for painting grass (including Brush stamps) and a3 brush sets for creating base patterns. I have modified the way I create pattern | Texture brushes using libraries of seamless patterns in conjunction with groups of nozzles Such that any brush set could have access to 100's of seamless patterns from different sets!. The Full list of Grass brush patterns (200) is in the untamed thread here. The Ink and Concept sets have access to many more! (around 400! resized at 400 x400 px for better clarity) Grass Base Textures rely a lot on Greyscale images meaning that successive brush strokes over the same area will in effect erase the pattern. Ink base textures are more robust meaning that on the whole the pattern is preserved with repeated brush strokes Some of the Grass brushes are available in resources using this link The Grass Base (First image!) i.e the grass brushes were not released to resources . There is however an older set in the 'Poison' collection They can be simply imported into Affinity 2.0 but you may need to tweak the brush dynamics. These are still available on the Forum Here Or You could look through them all In the Library I have updated some of the brushes (Ones That get used a lot to version 2). If you are looking for Grass type brushes as an alternative you could try: PB 08 Organics (1 of the six sets is available PB 10 Leaf PB 11 Camouflage (has a mixed set) PB 19 Inker as linked and Base Texture Toolkit Or the Fur Brushes
  18. I think the cause of the weird behaviour above is a response to duplicating and attempting to delete the duplicated brush. I just tried the recipe of @Hangman regarding brushes not being deleted from a Category list. However I also observed the strange issue above with: Empty Brushes in a category | Missing Nozzles | no visual only the brush name visible
  19. I just tried this...and I get the same results. Duplicating a brush and attempting to delete from the context menu causes is a bit sticky. I now know what the issue was originally when attempting to housekeep the brush categories.!
  20. Ocean LilliesOriginal Size 1000 x 400mm (upload size 2362 x 945px)Painted using Concept Painter Brushes and inkers.Again mixed raster and vector Elements
  21. I used 2.. 1. OBS studio 2. Edited in Shortcut (Converted !)
  22. Thank you so much for this fantastic tool. Makes a brilliant paint brush as well (Curves and Groups!) Just been playing with the update. It is going to save so much time...! Used to spend a lot of time selecting groups of objects and recolouring....not anymore!😀 Flood fill.mp4
  23. Thank you!... Yep future is possible!😀 The Inker brush set (PB 19)and Base Texture (PB 31) set are available in resources... I could extend the base texture patterns a bit! for this set!😀 It has been a challenge.. It is not just a 'template' It is more of a modular template that can be used in Designer and Publisher but is still A4! There are other sizes that should be considered. I don't really believe in just making a single template.. they all look the same!
  24. It was not my original intention to sell resources...but as there are so many sets it might be something to consider. I was trying to create a full toolkit for sketching and drawing comics or Comic like artwork. In reality the brush sets have 3 large toolkits (Inking | Concept | Comic) The Brush and Vector Assets were set up to support the process of comic artwork but it has been a bit of a learning curve. Changed the way brush sets are used with access to a library of base textures. Inker | Concept and Comic all have access to the pattern library!. The toolkit itself is not yet complete. There are a few extra assets I would like to add!.. However I believe the brush sets for this project are!. The latest set (PB 32 Pencilling) was sort of an after thought. Currently working on some new drawings for 'Untamed' but finding that I was still jumping around between sets to get to the brushes needed...So I made a new one just for pencilling | initial sketching which includes an eraser section and making use of the new 'Distance' feature in dynamics + 'Cycles' + Graph. Outstanding: Colour Palettes | Texture Styles |Perspectives Grids from Warp Group |Text Styles |Text bubbles and page comments | Vector Brushes | Page Templates Complete: Brushes: Existing (PB 19 Inker Sample Set (In resources) |PB 31 Base Texture Toolkit (In resources) | PB 19 Inker) New (PB 30 Comic Grunge | PB 32 Comic Sketch | PB 32 Comic Dot TK | PB 32 Comic Penciller) Assets: Vector Patterns: Patterns| Pattern Fills | Seamless Pattern Fills ( Dot | Grunge | Grid) Vector Grunge Borders 48 Vector Grunge Patterns (From painted grunge patterns) Set at A4 3 Tier Panel Size Pages: A4 Comic Pages A4 Rectangular Page Layouts (Tier and Panel Combinations) | A4 Angular Page Layouts (Tier and Panel Combinations) A4 Page Masks Rectangular (Vector) A4 Page masks Angular (Vector) A4 7 Sketch Templates A4 7 Page Sketch Templates (match Publisher Template Page) A4 Comic Panels: Single Panel Sets Rectangular and Angled | Tier Panels Sets Rectangular and Angled Helpers - Positional Palette (Global Swatch Basic Colours including rich blacks) Some of the new features in 2.1 are are extremely useful in this process.
