  1. hi @BofG, Thank you for your non-legal advice LOL. Yes, I am being upfront with the printer, I've let them know I am not using Illustrator and will "expect" that they inspect the file before they do anything. Also, you reminded me about digital proofs, I will require a proof be sent to the client and will also state in the sign-off form that the client is responsible for any problems arising from the printing as I am not going to be seeing the proof, but he is. I need to deflect all responsibility to the client here and get him to sign off on it. Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated.
  2. Hello, My client and I have been working on a packaging design for over a year and the design is almost ready to go to press. There are 2 sizes of the same package designed in Affinity Publisher with assets created/edited in Designer and Photo. The two packages are essentially 2 documents with 2 rectangle pages each (No die-line) 13" x 15" + 1/8" bleed x 2 pages (Front and back) 10" x 12" + 1/8 bleed x 2 pages (Front and back) The packages are to be printed on a shrink-wrap for a frozen pizza crust. I just learned that the printing costs for my client are upwards of $20,000. This is huge and I have to get the output correct. I just received the specifications from the printer and they are attached. However, I will copy the important specs below. My question is, am I able to provide what the printer is looking for based on the capabilities of Affinity Publisher vs. the printer's requirements? If so, I would really appreciate some guidance to create the output PDF files. I literally CANNOT afford to get this wrong as it will be the end of me! Please help. Guidance is appreciated. This being a $20 K print job I'm quite stressed about this. If someone is an expert in this and is able to help me, I can even provide the art files and am willing to pay for professional help. Thank you! DESIGN HOUSE SPECS.pdf ACCEPTABLE FILE FORMATS.pdf
  3. Its a small thing but will be appreciated. Have a shortcut to display margins and hide them. Right now, I duplicate the margins with guides so I can quickly hide and show the margins using the Guides shortcut. THanks!
  4. Hi Walt. Thanks for your help. I was finally able to show the tables. The issue was that I was in full-screen mode and the windows were popping up underneath or other widows that I did not see. I've figured it out. Much appreciated!
  5. I just created my first table and am trying to format it. I select my table, and when I click on the visible buttons for "Show Table" or "Show Table Format", absolutely nothing happens. When I go to the table menu and select either "Show Table" or "Show Table Format", absolutely nothing happens. I am not able to format my table.
  6. @Sean P, after installing 1.7.0.305 , the problem seems to be fixed. I'm able to smoothly move objects around again. Do you still need me to upload a video?
  7. Hi @Sean P, Installing the latest Publisher now and should have a video soon. I have slow rural internet so I'll do my best.
  8. Interesting. I checked my file and there was a complex vector item in it. Not a logo but a vector brush stroke. I removed them and the issue went away. I think @Dazmondo77 figured it out.
  9. Hello. finally was able to download and test the newest version 1.7.0.283. Yes, unfortunately, it is still very laggy. But here is the thing, It's only laggy with one particular file. When I created a new document, it was fine. The particular file that was laggy has a lot of embedded images. Would embedded images (and not linked) cause problems by any chance?
  10. I updated to the latest build yesterday. Since then, Publisher is practically unusable for me. I get the rainbow wheel all the time. And just moving objects around is very laggy and almost impossible. My version of Publisher Beta is 1.7.0.257 My OS is MacOS Mojave 10.14.3
  11. Hello. In InDesign, you can select a colour in the Colour Palette and change it. It will then change the colour across your document wherever you have it. Is it possible to do the same thing in Affinity Publisher? Thank you!
  12. Thank you. I didn't save the original file, but I rebuilt it again (and got the same results). I have attached it here. Much appreciated. Rob icon-colour.afphoto
