Well we have two different paths - I don't want to have anything to do with Adobe. Affinity despite its issues is a damn easy to use software and I would stick to it as now I have a work around for my RTL projects - So no thank you Adobe! You many be supporting RTL but you are still NOT the right tool for me!

Money talks my friend - I am not willing to pay for Adobe - Full Stop - So this is the BEST alt software imho
-
Are you having a laugh? Pay for my licence and I will move to ID but then again I don't like Adobe - I am an EX PagePlus user so my association with Serif goes back to my college days... I have done it and am quite happy with it.

Thank you Guys!! You guys are awesome!

Hello; I am having issues doing a simple mail merge where it does not seem to pickup the field names from the CSV. I have attached the project file + The CSV, hoping someone can shed some light on the matter. Cheers CHP_Names_Tag.afpub 35th Event - Final Guestlist.csv

Thank you Sean (and Walter) - I have uninstalled them both and use the Affinity one which shows the update now. Thank you again.
-
Sean - With Publisher this option is disabled. However on the splash screen the name Microsoft appears very quickly.

No, I did not touch the registry at all - I started the Designer it asked me to update - So I did and naturally I went to do the same for the other two and saw this
-
No this was installed via Serif store - The funny thing is Designer has this option which has now been updated to 2.5.3

The images were scanned and retouched using Photoshop & Photos The covers were created in Designer and the book itself was created in Publisher. It is Farsi The book is Bilingual I'll be honest with you - It was NOT fun to create as there were a lot technical challenges namely the lack of support for RTL based languages in Affinity.

Thank you Mike

Here is my latest project. In the works for the past 4 years and produced using Affinity. I must say this was a monumental effort thanks to myself and NO thanks to Serif for their lack of interest or support in adding RTL to their products and I had to jump through hoops to get this working - Each book is about 700 pages and there are more than 8000 adverts between them. This will be a mammoth 32 volume collection which 3 are complete. The posters were produced using Designer and the books with Publisher. For producing the pages in the correct RTL output alone a script was written which goes to show how determined I was and am to stick to Affinity and take on the challenges that it presented me. I do hope Ash & team will start to support RTL in the very near future and not the usual response "Not at the moment"

Dan; I am not sure if it was loading the fonts or the Pre-Flight but it had a green tick and it would remain green - further more if you have a text object it does not let you select it. I have found another issue in Design and if you lock the bleed it does not change the other values. I checked against 2.4.2 and it definitely works on 2.4.2

I must say I am very disappointed with this update which lost me a whole day of production - I will not be updating like I do every time.☹️
-
Thank you
-
Thank you Alfred - You are star!
-
Can someone please tell me how to revert back to 2.4.2 - I desperately need to finish a major project
-
Where can I download version 2.4.2? 2.5.0 is inoperable for me
-
Since the update - 2.5 simply hangs and the document become unresponsive the preflight show green tick and this never happened before with 2.4.2 - I cannot select any text object in a document.

Why don't you guys get it - Affinity cannot continue in it current form - Simply under-resourced and cash strapped. To survive they need fresh injection of cash and expertise - so you can shout and express until you are blue in the face but you fail to understand Affinity is NOT Adobe or indeed Canva - The list of feature requests are staggering but because they simply have not got the resources (One of the main developers who left), they fall on deaf ears - While Adobe is adding features such as AI powered fills and so on, Affinity is struggling with the never ending list of bugs. So cut them some slack as to move forward they need to rely on external source - What did you expect them to do? A senior programmer gets 60K - where do you think this money is meant to come from? Perpetual licence? So in short they look like they did the dirty on their users but left's face it V2 is struggling and updates are NOT coming out as frequently as liked or expected. This is my take on the matter.

What can they do? Money talks!!!!
