  1. Any update to this? (Currently March 2021.) I'm trying to change the font in a master text box, but updating the master doesn't update the pages.
  2. I think that might be my best option. Your mockup looks much better than the face swap I did! Thanks for the input. :)
  3. I'm trying to perform a face swap. I've managed to match the skin tone fairly well using Curves + LUT + HSL adjustments (still far from perfect), but I'm having a hard time getting the edges of the face to blend, partially due to skin tone differences and partially due to a difference in size between the faces. I've try to match colors using Levels, Curves, and HSL, but can't get them similar enough to create a smooth transition. If I make the face darker, it looks too dark and dramatic against the background skin, but clearly the face is too bright and reflective as-is. Anyone with more familiarity with Affinity's tools and/or a more experienced eye have suggestions? I'm still mostly a beginner, so feel free to explain like I'm 5! Base, face, and work in progress photos are attached. (Photos are all similar resolution, but the two with the bonnet were pulled directly from the version I'm working with where they've been scaled down.)
  4. No kidding? Man, I'm really am a newbie, haha. It seemed like when he dragged the light (in the vid at 3:33), the light had a sort of smart effect where it interacted differently with the image on the background layer. (Hard to explain, but the program seemed to recognize the black bar on the far side of the lamp and display the light differently on that vs. the glass on either side of the bar.) Must just be an optical illusion, compounded with a major case of beginner's eye.
  5. Darn, that's too bad. I liked the effect of the second method. Thanks for your help!
  6. Hi folks, I'm attempting to follow this Photoshop tutorial, but translated to Affinity Photo. The section of the tutorial I'm following starts at 2:31 and the specific light effect I'm trying to get is demonstrated at 3:31. What's the Affinity equivalent to the "transparency shapes layer" option here (see screenshot)? I found someone elsewhere on this forum suggest it was "Protect Alpha" (under the paint brush options), but checking that means that I can't paint on the new pixel layer at all.
  7. It was the diagonal profile I was missing! Thank you! Bones, that looks amazing.
  8. I'm trying to create chiseled metal text, similar to that found in this tutorial: http://smashinghub.com/create-a-nice-harry-potters-text-effect-in-photoshop.htm Affinity doesn't seem to have various beveling techniques available. Does anyone know how I might recreate this within Affinity Photo?
  9. Anyone have an answer to this question? I've been trying to figure out how to make a color-to-transparent gradient for about an hour now and I'm so frustrated I'm about to give up and go back to Gimp.
