  1. Hi, I produce a monthly newsletter for a local charity and often have to re-use an article that appeared in a document several months previously. The article is of course within a Publisher document and I've been unable to find a method of extracting from that document and placing it in to a new and separate document. Placing something like a Word doc or an image is straightforward, but this seems to have beaten me. Is there an easy method? Thanks
  2. The Affinity suite is just great. I use Publisher and Photo all the time and Designer occasionally. Serif used to do a video editing program, are there any plane to re-introduce this? It would be great to ditch Adobe once and for all. Ron
  3. Thanks Will, it was the Superscript!
  4. Hi, All of a sudden the font sizes in Publisher appear to have gone awry! Probably my fault but I don't know how to correct it. With the font size set to 12, which is my default, the print is very small, too small to read. To get the size something back to about 12 I have to set the font to size 20. This happens each time I start typing, even in new documents. I feel that I must have upset the system in some way and would appreciate advice on how to get the print to equal the size set. This would usually be 12 but size 20, normally quite large, seems to 'be the new 12'. Many thanks, Ron
  5. Hi, Is it possible to place a single page from an existing Publisher document into a new Publisher document with out having to retype it all again?
  6. That's the answer - don't know how it happened but thanks.
  7. Thanks Walt, They're all set to zero. Raining them in the text frame panel just moves along the page but doesn't make them horizontal rather than vertical.
  8. Hi, I'm guessing I've done something to create this problem but can't work out what to do to correct it: When I start typing the letters appear vertically, one below the other, rather than horizontally. Most grateful for a solution. Thanks
  9. Hi Nathan, Thanks for the reply. I've reinstalled Publisher and my printer software but all to no avail, it hasn't made the slightest difference to the printing of my booklet. However, I must thank you for the Print to PDF tip, that works well. It saves as a PDF in the order it would print from Publisher and it prints well with no cut-offs, thanks again. At least I can now get on with the booklet. As for the printing problems... Well I don't know what to do about that so I guess I'll have to use PDF Print all the time, not ideal but it's a good work around. Thanks
  10. Nathan, OK, I've tried that now and it doesn't make any difference. The pages are still getting cropped top and bottom. Do you think I should uninstall and reinstall the programme? Ron
  11. Hi Nathan, Thanks for coming back to me. I've sent you two copies of the file. There has been a small development since I posted my problem: The pages now print centrally (nothing cut off the top) but where there are two A5 pages on one A4 sheet (as in a booklet, you'll see from the files) only the left hand page prints and leaves the right hand page blank. The print menu is told to print as a booklet with flip on the short side. Rasterising made no difference and I was unable to print to PDF in the print menu. It's really weird and I hope you can resolve the situation for me, thanks. Ron
  12. Hi, thanks for the reply. I've attached three pictures: two of the different print settings from Publisher and one of the printed result. Whichever print setting I use the result is almost identical, there may be a slight difference but the edge is always missing and the print is always too high. I have the margins set on a Master page and the bleed settings are at 3mm all round. I've tried all sorts of settings in order to try and resolve the problem but short of scaling the images right down nothing seems to work. If I export as a PDF and then print it the result is perfect, as it is with anything else I print directly to the printer without using Publisher. I'm just baffled and frustrated. I really hope that someone can tell me just what I'm doing wrong.
  13. Hi, I'm producing a church magazine as a booklet using Publisher. There are 10 pages of A4 split into two, producing 20 printable pages, it's quite simple really. Printing the booklet directly from Publisher produces the pages in the correct numerical layout, as you would expect. When exported as a PDF the pages are in the correct numerical order but not in the correct layout order. For example, the pages are numbered 1 through to 20 in order but can't be duplex printed to form the booklet. Pages 2 and 3 would have pages 4 and 5 on the reverse when it should be page 1 and page 20 on the reverse. Publisher would print them like that but PDF won't. Is this normal for a PDF document exported from Publisher?
  14. Hi, Following on from the previous posts about booklet problems when exported as a PDF doc, I don't know if I have the same problem or if it's a different one: The front and back pages are two separate pages and not linked as they are in Publisher. In addition they are printed out as A4 pages. I suppose this is in a way understandable as the booklet pages are indeed A4 and divided into two sections. Is there a work around for this yet? Thanks
