SamTheMighty reacted to tominoff in 1.7 Bug: on start UI is disabled and TAB is not working
I think i've found the problem.
If you toggle ui with tab key to hide all tools and then exit from program (cmd+Q), then on next startup you get empty editor.

Hi tominoff,
Welcome to the forum! Good shout! I think you might be right! That is actually a known issue that is with development to be fixed - I'll get it bumped!

SamTheMighty got a reaction from tominoff in 1.7 Bug: on start UI is disabled and TAB is not working
Hey there,
so I upgraded to 1.7 and I think I got a bug.
-> I use a 2019 MacBook Pro 15" and a 2017 MacBook Air 13" both with the latest OSX
I usually plugin an external monitor when I am not on the go. And leave the MacBooks connected.
When I start affinity designer after closing it, the UI (Tools, context bar, symbolbar, and studio) is not visible. When I press <Tab> to toggle show/hide nothing happens. I have to manually go to view and enable all the UI every time I start affinity designer. This behavior is the same on both machines and reproduceable.
I think it also does not has something to do with the external monitor since I recognized that issue already with just the MacBook Air on the go. I quit affinity designer and set the macbook to sleep, start affinity designer again and have to reenable all the UI.
I got a Eizo USB C and an old EIZO DVI-D monitor but as stated above, It also happens without a monitor connected.
It nothing breaking but really annoying.
If you need more information, I will be glad to provide anything you need.
- cheers

SamTheMighty got a reaction from A_B_C in adjustments just stopped working
That solved it. If I could have thought on this my own... damn. Thanks so much :)

The problem seems to be that you had an active pixel selection when you created your adjustment layers. Therefore a mask was attached to these layers. Try the following:
Open your test document. Delete the Recolor adjustment from the “characters” artboard. Choose Select > Deselect in order to deselect your pixel selection. Recreate the Recolor adjustment. See if it works. I am pretty sure it does … ;)

SamTheMighty reacted to VIPStephan in PNG Export - Quality blurry / bad
You can create your own presets for export if you frequently need a specific one. I don’t know what kind of images you’re exporting (your attachments aren’t showing up for some reason) but I doubt that the pixel format has anything to do with it. Usually the document default is sufficient. And the resample setting is called “nearest neigbour” in English – and this is the most basic resampling method. Depending on your graphic it might work but is usually not the first/best choice. There is a nice explanation of different resampling methods and their outcome at http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/10931/what-is-lanczos-resampling-useful-for-in-a-spatial-context#answer-14361
