  1. Some of the words are underlined in Text-Edit, some of them aren't. I think the ones I've been slowly telling Affinity to re-learn are showing up as fine. But Affinity is no longer showing my words as wrong. Edit: I was wrong, Affinity just took a little while to recognize that it didn't recognize the words.
  2. Can you give me some step-by-step instructions on how to find my Default Language? I'm a little lost.
  3. I have between 414 and 432 words in my en dictionary file. Affinity Publisher is seeing all of the ones that are visible in the box as red squiggly. I didn't use Publisher 2.4.1 because I was waiting for the bug fixes in 2.4.2 so I'm not sure if I had the same problem. TextEdit sees the words as misspellings because they're nonsense alien words, so I expect that.
  4. I'm not sure if this should go into Bugs, but the update seems to have wiped my custom dictionary. All of the weird aliem words in my document are reading as red squiggly all of a sudden.
  5. Yeah, I had a feeling. Sadly I didn't have everything worked out, so I guess I'm just going to have to keep cleaning up after myself.
  6. I'm editing a book that I have split into chapters. The first chapter is set as the Style Source Chapter, but I keep running into issues where I need to add a new style for something within a chapter or edit a style within a chapter. Then I need to copy and paste the thing from the working chapter into the Style Source chapter and then synchronize every chapter with the source chapter again. Am I doing this wrong? Should I just set the chapter I'm currently working on as the Style Source?
  7. Oh, huh. I'll give that a try, thanks!
  8. I zipped up the entire book and all of the chapters into a package so someone can take a look at this within its full context. The loading message only seems to happen when I have the book open along side the file, so maybe that has something to do with it.
  9. My best guess is that it's somehow related to the Table of Contents? I was running into a lot of problems with that. And yeah, the book is still being worked on. It's in a pretty rough state because I need to figure out a way to put the chapter-marker pips and the page number bubbles on top of images and tables. When I was doing this in InDesign I could just have those elements be part of the Master Page, but in Affinity Publisher the master page goes underneath everything else, and I'm really not wanting to have a version of the master page without the pips and page numbers just for pages with images and tables that have to go underneath them >:c But that seems like the only solution I have.
  10. Yeah, have at it. I hope you can find something, because I'm flabbergasted. Aether Adrift Packages.zip
  11. I just restarted my computer and retried it. Got the same result. Document is fine when it's open by itself. Document is laggy when the Book it's attached to is open.
  12. I've actually got another bug report up about the loading issue. It shouldn't be loading any documents in the background. I just opened the document by itself and got no lag problems. If I open the document as PART OF ITS BOOK, it almost CONSTANTLY does the loading thing. So this seems to be a book problem.
  13. Hardware Acceleration is on. I've attached the zipped package to this post. PT01 Intro.zip
  14. Often when I'm tying, the document will lag. It pauses when I click to place my cursor, hitches when typing, and I only just recently noticed that it will display a "Loading 1 Document" message in the file name window. I'm not sure if this is a bug or the app working as intended, but it makes editing text within Publisher feel extremely unpleasant and unresponsive. Once again, I'm not sure if this is because of the way I have my document set up or not, so I have included the file. I'm worried this is somehow linked to the Books functionality, and I can attach the book and all of the associated documents if requested.
