Draw on paper > Trace with pen tool > Set stroke pressure
Draw using pre-defined shapes will get a smooth and professional result, but the shape of that flower is too organic to perform this procedure.

The gradient tool is so much better than Illustrator (What I'm talking about...Designer infinitely superior Illustrator in every way). B) The Node Tool can be bothering sometime, but Designer can achieve a great effect easily.
All my work published on Behance are made with Designer or Photo, check them out as well!

Hi lordgiotto,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
The Artboards/grids implementation isn't completed yet. We are aware of the issues with the grids and artboards.
There will be changes later to address those concerns including changing the origin point.
I love Designer's grid system, hope to see this feature soon!

Oops, I didn't notice the 1.3.5.18 is out...
but tested just now, the problem remains unsolved.

Sorry for the delay, I'm in GTM 8, so, you know...
I created the elements in the latest Beta version 1.3.5.15; I copied the shape to the MAS version Designer, the boolean Union still failed to work. However, after I copy the shape to Illustrator then Union them, no gaps anymore. Is this a bug?

Hi amyas,
That's related with the way Affinity renders the elements on screen. At certain zoom levels it may disappear, while in others it may be visible.
In any case It doesn't affect the output (export) in any way.
I know sometimes the anti aliasing algorithm can cause the display problem and zoom can make them disappear,
but even after "Union" the two shapes together, there's still a line between them ( a real one! ):
If I use the Node Tool, I can even edit that line!

Small Gap Between Objects is Pretty Annoying
Turned on:
Force Pixel Alignment
Move by Whole Pixels
Than snapped two objects, I even checked Transform Panel to make sure every pixel is aligned, but I still got this gap on screen.
After I "Add" these object together, that small gap still won't go away!
HELP!!!!

The guides' coordinate is relevant to the first artboard, instead of the artboard it's been placed (God, my english).
It's pretty difficult to handle especially when you are designing UI. You have to either calculate the right coordinate or draw a line then make the guide snap to it. But this won't happen to Illustrator's guide system.

"Chinese (Simplified) localization."
Thanks for that! Hope version 1.4 could get on MAS soon!

Pixelmator is indeed easy to use, but almost every move you made is destructive due to the lack of Adjustment Layer or features like that, there's no point for you not to dump Pixelmator since you already have Photo.
And the team made a lot of great video tutorials to get you started, they're really helpful! Viemo
