  1. " two new time-saving modifiers for the Node Toolwhich allow you to instantly straighten a curve or delete a segment to create two separate curves within one curve object "

Such is the description on the 5-things webpage.

How do I access these two new features ?

    --------

I downloaded the free assets, but they're not listed in Designer's Assets panel.
I think they are supposed to load automatically and end up in the assets panel ?

Where can I find them on my HD so that I can load them manually  ?

Thanks guys for yet another great job !

  2. Probably a by design thing, but I stumbled upon it and I thought I'd mention it anyway, just in case.

      >Create object  > Move pivot point  >Copy object X-times   >Select all.    The pivot piont is back center point on the top object  of the stack.

It remains at the chosen spot when selecting one by one.

This also happens in the MAS version 1.8.6.

    See attachment.

If it is by design, no need to answer this post

  3. Trying out the contour tool : It appears that the creation of a contour replaces the original object.
Also the object remains as one, Divide doesn't change that.
It makes no difference whether the object is filled or not.

    Is this by design ?

I should imagine that a contour tool would create an additional (outline) to the original ?
    Please see attachments.

P.S. The    .AFDESIGN  file  differs from the  .MOV file because I forgot to save the former - so had to draw it again -sorry !
    Doesn't change the outcome, though.

  4. Eyrisha :

@walt.farrell     Thanks,  I also sent her a PM, let's see what happens.
Mind you : she'll probably have a really good laugh at my "german" : I never could get my head around all those cases in German Grammar....:)

  5. Could somebody please help Eyrisha with this problem ?

She is asking for a translation of her post.

Here it is. The post doesn't mention Win or Mac version of AFPhoto, nor the version number or which brushes were downloaded.

    =============================================

TRANSLATION OF THE ABOVE POST :

"Yesterday I downloaded ca. 100 Brushes in Affinity Photo. All brushes were shown and I tried out some of them.

When I opened the program today, all brushes were gone. Only the default Basics are still available.

This is the 2nd time this happened, which doesn't really make me very happy.

It is rather a chore to download these brushes.

I would like to know why this has happened and what to do about it.

    Kind regards,

    Eyrisha Summers"

  6. I’ll be buying an iPad ( the normal one, not the Pro version) and am  thinking of getting the ADes. iPad application

in addition to my desktop app.

Looked at the system requirements on the Aff.site, but could not find any

    minimum requirements for the “harddisk”.

So, in other words, would 32Gb be adequate or would

i need the 128Gb at considerable more cost ?

Any advice is welcome, thanks !

    Stay safe !

     Best, CL

  7. I don't want to put my foot in this discussion -I'm not a professional.
But in a former life I had to use Corel Draw  professionally.
I always preferred it to other drawing software - and I was given the opportunity to test just about all of them,
from AutoCad (which I also used professionally)  to Illustrator and everything in between.
That said, each and every one of them had plus and minus points. And usually on the "ease of use" side.
Now that I'm retired I cannot afford a program for which I have to cough up +600 Euros or pay a hefty subscription/ransom fee.
    So be it...
Which gets me to Affinity products. Which I can afford.
IMO those folks are extremely customer-friendly. Rare is the occasion when
I posted a question and did not receive an answer.
Sure, there are times when valid suggestions are not followed up on.
I put that down to having a small developer team.
And, let's be honest, any UX designed by an " educated UX designer " will also be the product of his/her prefered way of doing things.

As for tweaking curves : I'm sure you all know of this feature, if not, give it a try : when tweaking a node put the cursor directly anywhere
on the curve and pause it there. A tiny little crossline will appear across the curve. You can now pull the curve any which way you want to tweak it.

There : I've said my piece.

    Stay safe , keep healthy

    C.L.
