  1. @DM1 Def appreciate your time and response on this… that solution just doesn’t solve the problem though. i would still have to manually adjust each brush size on a per use basis (time consuming), then end up with tons of copies of my brushes which only differ by size. Like TwangerMan said, when you save a brush it ‘saves a copy’ so not only do you have to adjust the size, then save it, you also have to rename it…. It’s just sooooo many extra steps that shouldn’t be necessary… This is a problem that deserves a proper fix.
  2. Yeah, tried this out… that feature is not included in the iPad version of Affinity V2 programs (99% of my Affinity use is on the iPad).
  3. First off I have to say that I love the apps overall!! Been using since ipad V1 and jumped on the V2 universal license when it dropped. It’s an awesome suite overall and a GREAT value!! lol, that said there are some things that just leave me metaphorically banging my head against the wall… The biggest frustration I have is with the default brush behavior… (I’m primarily using V2 Universal on a 2019 IPad Pro w. Apple Pencil, but I think a lot of this applies to desktop versions as well). Frustration #1 There is no good way to see what brush you had last selected or recent brush list… For instance, you select a raster brush, then for whatever reason need to switch to designer/vector mode… even if you haven’t selected a new/different brush or changed any brush settings, when you return to the raster brush tool the brush panel opens back up to ‘default brushes’. The same brush I was using before will still be selected with the same settings, but there’s no way of knowing what brush that was. There has to be a way to see your ‘recently used brushes’ or at least have your last brush selection remain highlighted until you select a different brush. Fustration#2 There is no way to lock the size of raster brushes!!! I often use several brushes and frequently go back and forth between them… there doesn’t appear to be any way to lock the brush size, so whenever you select a new brush it opens to the brush’s default size… so then you have to manually resize it… again, and again, and again. Having a toggle or lock to maintain the brush size you want / currently have chosen would be SOOOOOO much more efficient. I don’t want to have to manually resize my brush every time I select a new brush, and I don’t want to have to edit default brush settings every time… I just need to able to pick a size as needed and have that size locked whenever I select a new brush. I know I can’t be the only person struggling with this… because if you regularly swap brushes while trying to create then you know the struggle is real. Any updates or solutions to these issues would be GREATLY appreciated!!
  4. Adding on to this thread… online searches to this issue hasn’t produced any solutions… looks like there may be no solution. Pretty desperate for a way to lock raster brush size on IPad (Affinity V2)…. Using multiple brushes is INCREDIBLY tedious as it sits now! This is how it goes RN… brush defaults are all say 35px… I’m working on detail in a small area and go between a line brush and a shading/stippling brush. I want all my brushes to be @ 10px… pick one brush, then adjust to 10px… need to switch brushes, cool, now adjust back to 10px… done with that portion of drawing and need to swap brushes again, cool, now adjust back to 10px. It just seems like an unnecessary extra step you have to take EVERY time you change a brush but want the size to remain constant. I feel like there needs to be a toggle or something in the brush studio/panel that would allow your current size setting to override the brush default. Then the brush could be opened at the currently selected size OR the brush’s default size. Having each brush always open at its ‘default size’ setting means spending a TON of time resetting the size to what you want, especially when using multiple brushes; it gets old REAL quick. (I know you could create new brushes/ groups with different settings but I don’t want tons of copies of all my brushes that are only differentiated by size, that also feels like a bad solution). Eagerly waiting any update or solution to this issue…
  5. I’m having this same issue with several fonts as well… have closed and re-opened the app; the issue persists. (The font name displays correctly from the list of fonts, but once it is selected the name shows in those ?Chinese? characters.)
  6. So I’m having an issue with the vector brush (Designer 2 IPad), and I can’t tell if this is a bug, or part of its design. When using the pencil tool you can select the controller as none, draw a line, then adjust its pressure curve from the ‘stroke panel’… that pressure curve will then be applied to subsequent strokes (I want tapered ends and a fat middle) this is the behavior I’m trying get out of the vector brush but it doesn’t behave like this. If you set the controller to none, there is no pressure curve applied, and the pressure curve from the stroke panel will not make any changes… it seems you have to set the controller to ‘pressure’ which records the pressure curve as you draw… you’d then have to go to the stroke panel, reset the curve, then adjust to what you want; even then, that pressure curve cannot be applied to subsequent strokes… so you have to do this manually for each stroke? The only work around I can find is to do all the line work with the pencil tool (with the desired pressure curve applied) then go back, select all those lines and choose a vector brush to be applied which will conform to the pressure curve I want… Is this a bug, or is this the intended operation… and is there any better way to accomplish this? It’d be sooo helpful if I could either select a vector brush right off the bat to be applied to the pencil tool, or if there was a way to assign a pressure profile to the vector brush tool rather than having to adjust everything after the fact. Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
