The symbol's buttons in color is really from another… designer ;-) I prefer the text styles mono icons/buttons personally.

Yes, the font is working. Only issue is, that fontfaces may not be in proper order – see Regular Upright before black. Dont know if this is Affinity problem or something wrong with font files.

Hi, just a little observation on creating new documents in designer: New document form is different from Document setup form, doesnt make to much sense to have two dialog forms for the same operation, does it? To set up bleed You need to enter the settings two times (as bleeding is not included in New document setting And new document created as an artboard ignores the margin settings from new document window, so You need to set up the document twice again. A bit annoying. This should get some attention too, I guess. Otherwise, new beta seems pretty stable to me. No crashes so far!

I dont use sliders for this too much, thanks for tip. But the bug seems to be (silently) fixed in the current beta (1.5.4).

When trying to enter value in pt, it is recalculated to another value in pt :-/ For example: I enter value "14 pt" and designer recalculate it to "22 pt". EDIT: character palette recalculates most of the values You enter :-[ (not only Leading Override). Propably relatively to present value. However, with the fact stated in other threads that context typo toolbar works differently from studio palettes… all this makes designer really painfull to work with text.

Ahoj Bauke, Yes, my OSX language is Czech. And again: Yes, context toolbar typography section looks and works differently from typography palette! So, it is not bug, it's BUG! Typography palette is more accurate, typefaces works correctly, but some are missing a well. Thanks for pointing this out, it encourage me to finish the job in Designer :-) I hope that essential typography tool will be fixed soon. It is quite irritating. lexislav

Hi, I have run into u problem with Titilium font family. The font is free for download here: https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/Titillium Titillium works just fine on the same mackbook pro in Pages, Indesign C6 and others, the bug is related just to Affinity Designer 1.5 beta 3. Haven't tried in older versions. There are actually two issues with the family: 1) not all options are listed in font dropdown. I see thin, thin italic, thin upright, but only BOLD is listed instead of BOLD, BOLD ITALIC, BOLD UPRIGHT 2) designer is messing with Titillium typefaces for example with thin version: when thin and thin upright are selected, designer use some italic version (not thin), thin regular is used when thin italic is selected. Quite messy. I have originally thought this would be related to some bug in font, but it works just fine everywhere except to designer :-/

Yes, all of it :-) Hopefully RC2 will fix this, it is a bit annoying.

Converting non-artboard document to artboard document by insert the artboard wont keep the documents original margins/bleeding - fresh artboard has no margins and bleed. So when You decide to make some variants in Your document this way, You need to set up these once more. More bug then feature ;-) Have no idea it this was logged before or not. tested on fresh 1.4.2 RC1

And here You go, these are the consequences - stack of addicts with discontinuation symptoms :-) Me included :-/ We are nervous, impatient, looking for culprits… WHERE IS MY BETA!!? :-) Seriously, You should start the AD detox. That is what I have been trying and I believe this method is not working. When You click the palette icon in swatches/gradients as suggested, the gradient is saved, but different one that the one I am working with in Gradient map dialog box. Actually it seems that even with gradient tool, saving the gradient there is not working correctly. May be related to my complex gradient with several colors :-/ Thanks, I took me while to find presets there. That is why I believe there should be a shortcut on popup windows for loading presets. Because for gradients we have two separate libraries – swatches and adjustment palette. That is a bit confusing. At least for me.

Hi, gradient map tool (and similars) offers add preset at upper left corner: So I can store my presets – and I had a problem to find those presets in thumbnails in studio palletes (when opened). Souldn't a „button“ to open the presets a part of the dialog box (gradient map and others?) I have found this a bit confusing…

Could be related to artboard's naming issue. Duplicating artboards wont change the name, so it is not printable/selectable in print dialogs if You have more then one artboard with the same name. This helped me to resolve crashing on printing.

Hi, is there a way to select all parts of group (so the elements inside the group, not the group itself)? It is very needed for setting stroke width or color of the group's elements. But I haven't discover an eas way of select them all in one step. An there may be many of them… What I do now is to gol to layers and manualy select all the leayers inside the group. Thanks for any tip on this.

Layer blend live preview is not working in this beta. Is it just my mac tired from the tough week? I am trying the live filter black and white, regular layer… and no preview at all. I feel like in the dark ages of photoshop… EDIT: creating this post fixed the problem :-/

good point, thx. However it doesn't open the groups/artboards etc. It would be very useful/faster, if there would be some key + click to find object in layers panel. Instead of current right click -> find in layers. Or is there such trick?

Well, I just make some time to transfer my plugins from PS6 to Affinity Photo. And for me - Portraiture wont create new layer or document neither. No matter if document is 8 or 16bit, color format… opened from raw of afphoto… No new layers with results from Portraiture are created. It works only with Current layer export option. I went trought all recommendations from previous post. Any new ideas on this? thnx

I have two objects with 1pt stroke width. Aftrer adding them, the result has 1,4pt stroke width instead of 1pt. In the case on screenshots. Sometimes, the results are even more disappointing. I suppose this is a bug, but if not, what logic is behind this? thnx

Hi, unfortunatelly not. I was a bit stressed trying to finish the task in time and I have not save the buggy version. I have tried to recover the steps on the file, but I am not able to reproduce this. I have resized the canvas by using crop tool and I am sure the bug appeared after this step, but it works now. However, I will do a lot of work next week, will start with AP again, I will keep in mind to save the buggy versions (if any -hope not). L

I have run into a quite wierd mask behaviour last night. I thought it is caused by working late, but the bug is there even on monday, so… time to report this one. What I was doing before this: - add layer filled with gray, set the opacity mode - add mask to that layer - then recomposing image, changing crop etc. (not able to restore) What I am doing to do on video: - paint the mask of the layer - paint into the layer itself. Solution? I have exported the file in to PSD and all layers worked just fine. Actually, there PS:: is there a way to attach the video directly?

Related topic is replacing embeded file… so it would keep the dimensions and position, and masking… Hopefully one day it all will eventually come.

Unfortunatelly, it doesnt… but thanks anyway. Maybe related to a non english keyboard/system setting (original apple thought)?

Not for me :-/ I am on El Capitan, beta 1.4.2 (Beta 3) Tab takes me nowhere, away from creating dash gab pattern.
