darrdo got a reaction from Roland Rick in Drag and drop
    Hi,
It would be great to be able to drag and drop between apps (Affinity Photo /Designer) or drag a document to the app and work on it.
It would save time with the work flow.
    Thanks

    HI.
Does AD have a feature simlar to Illustrator or InDesign where you can display all of the glyphs in any given font? This is very handy when needing an alternate glyph in your text.

Yes, the polygonal lasso is a must!! It saves work time and it helps in certain tasks. I have tried the freehand selection tool and it is cool but it does not works in the same way even with ⇧ (shift).
    Thanks

I don't need artboards but O Do need pages — I do mostly print design and not being able to put front and back of a folder or business card in one dile is very fidgety since customers and printers expect everything in a single PDf file. This needs extra work (= extra time = extra money) when noodling arkund with layers and single-page files.

There is so much Designer can do, even though I would love to of done this in an app that was designed for this like indesign I thought I'd give AD a go, yes Art boards and bleeds would of helped Massively, M A S S I V E L Y (hurry up and sort this out NOW, now please  :D, no seriously we need this now, don't sleep EVER until this is done, I really mean this)

Here is a Menu design I worked on for a Nigerian restaurant. Delivery arrived this morning and went and dropped of to my client Tuesday evening who was very pleased.

It's always good to see the results and hear the feedback and see the progress, even though this is nothing special or some spectacular illustration, it just goes to to show what can be achieved (and yes it was paid work) even without the necessary features available, with a little work around. And at such a great price, (actually an AWESOME price) LOVE IT. Great work guys, looking forward to the official release of Photos and esp. Publisher (yep this is THE ONE i'm looking forward too, better get it right) which is going to help with my freelancing. Maybe even speed it up.

Great work guys, no seriously we mean this.

I cannot get the SHIFT key to trigger Straight Line functionality as you describe.  I am using Affinity Photo 1.3.4.

But even if that's a bug and you fix it, the fact remains that Photoshop's Polygonal Lasso Tool (PLT) works differently from AP's Free Hand Selection Tool (FST).  With the PLT, you click multiple times to slowly create your selection.  Even if you did have the means to create straight lines with the FST, the fact remains the FST does not use a "Path Tool" style means of selection.  Therefore, it would be nice to see a true PST equivalent in AP.  Please seriously consider adding it.

Saying it another way, the PLT in Photoshop doesn't require you to "hold things down."  No constant clicking required.  No constant pressing of any keyboard keys.  You just click to add a point, then click to add another point, and continue on until you complete your selection.  It may not have an appeal to you if you've not grown to love that method of selection, but trust me, I use it EXCLUSIVELY in PS.  I can't explain why.  It just is my favorite way to make selections.  So of course I'd love to do the same in AP.

Also keep in mind that the PS PLT is not the same as the Pen Tool in terms of the way the "line" appears.  With the Pen Tool, you click once to set a point and you and you won't see a new line appear until you click the next point.  But with the PLT in Photoshop, you click once and then you will see the selection line.  In other words, you will always see the selection line as you click new points.

    Thanks.

Gotta have it. This is a must for a professional designers toolkit.
