MarieDoesDesign got a reaction from h_d in Replace colour with another in all objects
I just used the replace colour function in the BETA version - I love it. It literally made my day and saved me loads of time.

Thank you that is very helpful, glad you explained that I can have both versions. I shall experiment and see what happens.

Well, in the immortal words of Galileo Galilei, "Eppur si muove". 🌎
In the current Mac beta of Affinity Designer (1.9.0.2), I can create, edit, open and save documents and then open them in the current Mac retail version (1.8.4). Of course that may change with the next beta, and I would be the last to rely on it for Important Work.

That is surprising. Generally for a major update (e.g., from 1.8 to 1.9) the files are not downward-compatible. That's part of what changing the .x part of the number indicates.

Affinity don't recommend it, and it is at your own risk.
But if you download the beta you can run it alongside the original, it won't replace your retail copy.
I've just created a document with multiple rectangles with the same colour fill in the retail version, saved and closed, then opened it in beta, replaced all the colours using Select - Same - Fill Colour, saved and closed, and re-opened in the retail version without any issue.
It's not a real-world test, but you could give it a try on a copy of anything important.

Organic texture Brushes Pack 1 Version 2.0
I have been working on updating the original texture brush packs so that it complies with more recent uploads
The original 11 brush packs(.zip) files have been removed and replaced with a single file containing all the original brush packs so that they are stil accessible
Added a new set now containing 12 brush packs (120 brushes) also in a single file for download.
Made significant changes to the original brushes
a. simplified the nozzles by removing the intense pattern overlays and added 28 new additional png files to increase pattern variation.
b. Reduced the initial size of the some of the original brushes.
c. Adjusted the brush dynamics to allow for use of flow and accumulation in the general brush tab
d. Where possible reduced the reliance on random size variation in brush dynamics
d. Added sample 4 page PDF for download
e. Removed original sample images (11) and replaced with just 4
enjoy!

MarieDoesDesign reacted to D3moN in Brushes for technical drawings (fashion design)
Hey reglico,
after hours of looking for a tutorial to manage how this works, I've found one that showed me how to create a brush (in a way I could understand :D).
This morning I got the time to test it. Et voilà it worked.
I could create these brushes which I had in illustrator before.
But nevertheless, reglico I thank you so much for your time.!
I attched the brushes I made this morning. So if someone is interested in using them, go for it.

MarieDoesDesign reacted to Mr Techpack in Clothing design for manufacturing
Hey guys,
Just curious to see if anyone else uses Affinity Designer for clothing design and illustration? I've been using it to work with outdoor clothing manufacturers since 2016 and literally do not know any other designers who use use it. Am I alone? I can't understand why everyone is not using it as I've never looked back since making the switch from Adobe!
Anyway, I'd love to hear if anyone in this forum is using Affinity design and develop clothing so we can exchange tips etc, etc.
Some of my design work that's been created with Affinity can be seen at mrtechpack.com - I've also added some designer resources that can be downloaded for free incase anyone finds it useful.
Thanks and happy illustrations!
Mr Techpack
