Goodnight, I've had a question for a while and would like some help: Why is the trimbox size shown a little larger than correct? As per the attached image, my file is 49.5x80mm (cropped) but affinity always throws in a little extra breakage like in the image 0.03mm in width and 0.01mm in height.
I have a problem with this, because in the printing shop where I print small stickers or small things in an assembly with several on the sheet, I have pre-made knives in Coreldraw or Illustrator or even Acrobat Pro with imposition plugins and these measurements are exact , and when assembling the file generated by affinity using the same number of lines and columns and spacing and placing the art on top of the knife they end up having a very noticeable difference.
My solution currently has been to use the imposition plugin in Acrobat Pro to crop the document to the exact size before doing the imposition, because if I use the trim box generated by affinity it will cause this problem. I've already tried exporting with no bleed, and using pdf for press or pdf for print and it's the same.

they are not memory sticks, and I tried using only the intel gpu instead of nvidia rtx and nothing changed.
no matter what I do it's the same happening and response time of starting applications and tools.
I have all the computer's drivers up to date and software components... anyway... I don't know what to do, I have to be patient and work like this until a solution comes out or something is discovered.
But this lag is annoying, the software stops being responsive and delays the workflow

i have same problem and tried uninstall all versions, install from msix, clear all data using ctrl whn open apps.
i have a dell G15 5520 windows 11 pro 22h2 comp. 22621.1848 RTX 3050 24GB RAM DDR5 INTEL CORE I5 12500H
i tried nvidia driver update, intel drivers update, unistall font manager, and much more...
the time is long time too to open all apps, and some times any tool i have click take a time to active, windows freeze from some seconds whn a click in some tools for first time. -
I have dell g15 5520 24gb ram core i5 12th RTX3050 and V2 2.1.0 have a slow initializing here too, the three aplications have 50 seconds time to open each.

This looks like a bug to me and is an issue in both V1 and V2...
A possible workaround would be to use Edit in Publisher, convert your Artboards to Pages in the Publisher document and export to pdf from there either using a copy of your Designer document or then saving your Publisher document so it can be re-opened as artboards in Designer...

Thanks i go to try these alternatives and thinking to try export via export persona too and see the results, but the bug is terrible for me, because the problem i have see only in cutting process and i have thinked wich the problem are machine or imposition but after seraching for the problem i have reached this with trimbox.

In the past iv'e posted a case of white line appears on JPG in left side of them, when have multiple artboard in the same file, the line only appears after export, but now is solved. The solution is turn off the snap option and other buton wich i dont remember the name now, located on left side of snap Button...and after this do a little move the artboard few point or milimeters.
But today i have a situation:
Two artboards, 1 e 2.
Artboard 1: 50x100mm
Artboard 2: 50x100mm
When i export the pdf with 2 artboards ( 2 pages in total ) the trimbox of page one ( artboard 1) show me 50,004x100,002 apeoximately. This on acrobat pro crop tool.
The page two show me 50,0012x100,010 apeoximately.
When i do a imposition using trimbox the pages have different results, the work is a sticker and have a trouble with this because a countour used to cut the sticker stay in different position, rhe sticker are repeatedely in paper and this have a diference on initial and last sticker cut position on the paper.
I Checked measure of artboards in points and both have the same size.
I try to use the same solution of jpg problem and aparently solved.
Why cause this problem?

This is stupid. It should be under 10 MB.
The linked PDF size is 1 MB and it contains 2 pages.
Besides the links to that PDF and text fields with personalised data, there is nothing else.This suggests that AFP is doing something stupid, like creating a separate copy of a linked file for each page would be my guess.
Looks like its back to InDesign CS5 for good for me until this gets resolved.

Export took about 5 seconds, vs. AFP erroring out on export after like 3 or 4 minutes.Yes, i use data merge in long years, ms word, corel draw, indesign, planepress, ok some of programs are specific for this, but afp is in begin of this function.
Afp is a incredible software and i love it but data merge need more attention.
Out of data merge, i import 456 pdf pages linked from a pdf with less then 5mb. The use of ram reaches more than 20gb, i sucessfull export when i set the performance limit use of ram to afp to the max possible ( 65gb ) using 20gb ram of system and rest of virtual memory, only method to work.

I did another test now, I lowered the amount to 5,000 numbers. By the way, I did two tests, one with 5,000 numbers and nothing in the background of the page. And another with 5,000 numbers and a pdf imported to the background of the page ( linked ), a scanned pdf with 5mb.
The 5,000 without the background applied generated normally and I was able to export. The 5,000 with the pdf in the background generated but the program closed when trying to export. Both had a consumption of 11 to 12gb of RAM in the generated file with 5,000 pages.

That's cool, thanks, nice to know there's this option. But I really wish we had a solution for data merging, because what I try to do is very simple, I could do it in MS Word, WPS Office, or Indesign too.
If this is something that AFP has trouble doing it would be nice for the team to know about it, as generating a certain amount of simple data with nothing applied as a background seems too light to me, maybe just needing refinement in the programming.

the question is that I manage to generate the 13500 "tickets" but the afp generates a file with 13,500 pages (there is no problem with that, it is correct), the problem is consuming 25gb of ram and when going to the export option the program closes.
I can't export because the menu doesn't even appear, the program closes. I have 32gb of ram and plenty of space on an nvme ssd, integrated graphics card amd 5600g and dedicated geforce gtx660, windows 10. a good machine.

I try to generate 13.500 pages with only 2 fields in each page, a numbered page, white page, not have an image or pdf or nothing linked or embedd. Only text field, a number to use after on acrobat.
Resume: i have imported an excel file with 13.000 lines of data. A number 5001 to 18500, simple file.
Result: A large amount of GB ( 25gb of ram used ) and AFP crashes when i click on export menu, the program crashes in front of me kkkkkkk.
Indesign have an option to export directly, not have a necessity of generate a new file with all generated pages to export later.
I have try to set cache memory to high amount of GB and the performance option on AFP to use large amount too, and not have a good result.

however, i have placed all the pdf pages in a frame with size bigger than page size for keep bleed, but bleed shows only i click in page on layer panel than click on frame on this page and click on page placed on this frame to change page box option to "media box". Because the placed pages from pdf have placed in trimbox mode from default. I search an option to change the default page box mode before the place a page from pdf but dont see.
I have changed one by one page box mode of "trim box" to "media box" for bleed appears. -
we need to have a function in V2 to select all pages on left studio panel of place panel, not one page only...

place images is different from add pages.
place pages put your pdf on pages keeping your document original, not have a changes, original page is placed. And choice a pdf with multiple pages to place we need to select one of pages to place on menu. A best option to place multiple pdf pages is divide the pdf in one page per file, then use place function and select all files. this method allow to keep various pages in place menu, after this click more quickly page a page putting a pages on a frame pre-formated for all pages using master page for example.
add pages from file is a menu to import all pages automactly but "interpret" pdf and manipulate our files, changing fonts, paragraphs, objects...is fast but ir for editing purpose, not keep original file.sorry for english, im brazilian not using a google translator now rsrs

Putting myself in the shoes of someone who bought it at least 3 months ago is really frustrating, I don't know the reality of affinity today even in the midst of this crisis, but I would try to provide something for these people. More than 3 months of purchase, I would consider not being able to do anything about it because it is not possible to help everyone, after all, the company also has to have a firm posture to maintain itself and its team.
It's not an easy situation and I believe that serif didn't mean any harm, even if it had to make a tough choice, after all, if the company has financial problems or in its quality and performance we will be the first to feel it, so as adobe has done, the community is feeling it.
When Serif reaches a much higher level, I believe that these challenges will be greater and greater, we hope that they will be able to deal with them, together with the creative community.

Exact! I understand people sad and v1 users, i am a V1 user, and use the software for freelancer jobs only and yess we like a discount for v1 but the actual price and licensing system is very cool. In a future Affinity think more for this situation.

I think you can also buy the store versions, associate them with your affinity account, then use that account elsewhere to activate a trial, but I couldn't find the Universal bundle on the MS Store, so went this way just in case, while also keeping the auto-updates active.
MS STORE show me the universal license only if i have instaled de trial version, and when open the app show me the windows with options of purchase, so show the app separate option and universal license.

Well...the second case give me a chance to test, tomorrow i test using 296dpi on export or similar values to try affinity to calculate rounded values.
