  1. I also miss hide/show/lock/unlock all. My preferred way of activating it is clicking the layer checkbox with a modifier key held down.
  2. There was nothing unfriendly in them. I just disagreed with a recommendation that I change the way I work.
  3. With all due respect, saving to the cloud works just fine for me outside of Affinity. Also, not using the cloud doesn't make the issue of huge file sizes go away.
  4. Thanks MEB. I'll try some more experiments for my specific use case in this instance.
  5. Some attachments. my afdesign file 1. without image 2. with image 3. with image rasterised 4. the original JPEG If I reduce the DPI of the document to 72dpi, the afdesign file drops to 1.7MB which is acceptable, given the size of the original assets, but in this case the image quality is far too low for my requirements. With regards to the "optimised for speed not size" when saving files to iCloud, or other cloud services like dropbox that I use for my clients, the larger file in fact decreases speed of operation as Affinity Designer halts the user interface with a progress bar as the file is saved. without image.afdesign with image.afdesign with image rasterised.afdesign
  6. Rasterising the image layer resulted in a file of 17.3MB Which is even larger than before.
  7. I have an simple Affinity Designer document with one image and some line work. when saved without an image it is a 13KB afdesign file when I add a 750KB JPG file to the document, the saved afdesign file size is almost 16MB why is this? is there anything I can do to make the afdesign file size more similar to the size of the JPG it contains? ps: I am not saving history with file. happens with: 1.5.4 1.5.5 - Beta 1
  8. I have an simple Affinity Designer document with one image and some line work. when saved without an image it is a 13KB afdesign file when I add a 750KB JPG file to the document, the saved afdesign file size is over 15MB why is this? is there anything I can do to make the afdesign file size more similar to the size of the JPG it contains? ps: I am not saving history with file.
  9. I love most of these ideas. Windows: I would also like to see a more "modern-Mac-like" object inspector. Layers: would appreciate a more friendly panel for these Curves: would appreciate more tools, especially knife Clones: yes, please Simulation: hmm, still need to be convinced I'd also like to add a Viewer app on iOS/Android and Prototyping support, to create interactive protypes of art boards and symbols linked together. See Principle, Marvel, Flinto for examples. This would be a killer feature for a lot of designers of today. He means do you want to move to Nottingham and work for Serif on Affinity ;)
  10. I use an image editor called Acorn. It would be cool if File > Edit in Photo could work in any external editor app that is not Affinity Photo. As I do not use Affinity Photo. Cheers
  11. I am working with a file that has lots of imported images that are modified outside of my control. I have to manually "update images" on each one, even if it is a duplicate image It would be great if Affinity would auto replace images (maybe its an option per image?) Also, replacing one image should replace all instances of it in document. Thanks! edit: sorry, please move to Feature Requests
  12. Thanks for this topic. Has been driving me crazy! this temporarily missing feature has really messed up my workflow *sigh*
  13. This is the sort of method you may be able to automate in AffPhoto http://www.howtogeek.com/194866/how-to-identify-stuck-pixels-and-remove-them-from-your-digital-photos/
  14. Can you not create a layer covering your hot pixels and easily apply that with inpainting or similar? https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/13574-removing-objects-from-a-picture/
  15. Hi, are you using some sort of zoom mode on Mac OS? Could it be that your window is hanging outside the edge of the zoom area or screen? The things you are listing are at the bottom of the Affinity window: Heart tool, Tear tool, Callout Ellipse tool. Maybe try running in fullscreen mode (click green button in the top left of the window) so that the window size always matches the screen size.
  16. Thanks! Workaround is to click the mini greyscale thumbnail and it will refresh the popover (I actually think it should toggle show/hide the popover, as there's no easy way to close that popover—but that's another issue)
  17. When you make a manual change to line pressure, and then Undo (keyboard or menu) then it does undo the change and update the tiny greyscale pressure thumbnail, but the editable popup pressure curve does not update. Video: http://cl.ly/2X1P1F1s2a11 Affects all current versions.
  18. I also came here to post that this should be added to Designer! Amazing innovation. But maybe the creators have patented it?
