  1. Thanks a lot and sorry for the delay replying to your help message, but somehow I never got an alert for it and I only saw it now. Same with some other messages, not sure why. Anyway I'll try it out, thanks again.
  2. Haha, yes well, it surely takes quite a bit less time if one is not demoing every step in such a way some things are more understandable for the people that might not know much. However the power of symbols is magic yep.
  3. So if I want to modify, copy, duplicate the colour of this very one stop highlighted in the fill tool in this gradient I have in the canvas, ( please see attachment), wouldn't it be worth having it consistently highlighted in the dialog for me to easily copy its colour, duplicate, change its opacity, delete and so on? I of course can find my way as things are right now, sometimes really in a cumbersome way, like counting stops to see which one coincides in the line, or I see myself often simply doing trial error, until I find it, but I'd rather have them as requested, for the sake of consistency and ease of use. And if things get too cluttered there as you indeed pointed out, one could always make a zoom in the gradient stop line or similar. If all this is too much, why not making the options in the dialog available somehow in the canvas gradient tool.
  4. Hello, So far I have created some 3 or 4 step by step guided tuts on simple illustrations in Affinity Designer as requested and promised. Will be uploading more regularly as my schedule allows me. Anyone interested, check my youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/sauldrumandbass Hope you find something interesting in them, Kiss, Isabel
  5. Hi, do you know if this shortcut can be customised and changed to something different? Thanks
  6. Hi I am using the brushes in AD for painting and I'm not sure if there is a way so that if I set my brush to say for example opacity 50% and flow 15% and then change to another brush I could keep these settings instead of having to reset opacity and flow time and again? Thanks.
  7. For the time being I just have this on AD on my youtube channel- a review on a tutorial someone did on the creation of a mandala using symbols. This one is commented as some people need comments better than music over or notes. I will be doing several next not only on youtube but other platforms and design magazines.
  8. I'm currently doing on-site workshops to teach AD and general ideas on how I approach these kind of illustrations not only in one software, but in any other vector software. It's not only about the tool, but about learning to refine things in a way they make the best result. I'm so insanely busy I only have half way of my tuts completed, but it will definitely come. Finishing the school year at uni and giving my last workshop next week. I will focus on these tutorials mainly on AD for the next year. TIP: Do not use time savers and shortcuts such as embossing, strokes or 3D effects in these illustrations. It's not about time saving, but carefully crafting effects.
  9. Hi all, Is there a good reason that I might not see but someone else could make sense out of on why the stops for the gradient handlers are not highlighted equally in the gradient dialog and the gradient tool applied to an object? In the pic I attach, it's easy to know which is which, but when the gradient is more complex and has similar colours, it's quite hard to know which stop is which in the gradient dialog, so I have to trial error until I find it. As you can see, in the canvas, the green stop is selected, while in the dialog is always the leftmost one, the red in this case, to be highlighted. Wouldn't it make sense that, if I have a stop selected in my object gradient, it would show as such in the dialog window where I'm to make colour changes? Thanks.
  10. Hi So my doubt is if there is a way to make a small curve follow another path automatically. Please see the attached image so it is clearer what I need to do. Thank you
  11. +1 I'm having a real hard time creating the slices as i need them to be.
  12. Hi I think this is possible, but honestly I don't see how right now. I have an object I need to resize maintaining it's corner radius. Any help? Thanks
  13. Thanks George Hmm I dont really remember how much this one in particular took me as I was doing 12 more things at the time and doing it to relax my mind from other tasks... But I could have it done probs in 3 working days in AD. Around 20 hours of work. Maybe even less as it is not too complex.
  14. Timber, I understand you, as I'd be the same. I am working hard to get things done, but I had lots of chages in my current professional and personal situation in the las 2 months and things got harder to accomplish for extra work. First course I've been preparing was more of a good training for me on how to do this the best way, and this one should come later, but I need to finish part 1 first. Not asking for followers for the sake of them, but it'd be good if you follow me on Twitter (@Isabel_Aracama) so you learn more on the status of things, as I don't want to be telling everyone about my own businesses on this forum.
  15. so not possible yet? not even in with artboards? I maybe dreamt of it but thought I read something about it? Maybe I didnt and Im making it up? ;D
  16. Thanks. Yes, hidden you said it well ;) It'd be really useful to add something like a combo where "noise" seats, just more options than simply noise, where we could choose out of different pre-made patterns, just as I showed in the attachment. I use them a lot in Fireworks and they are so useful to add textures quickly. Thanks very much.
  17. Hello I've been looking around I couldn't find a request for texturing objects in AD Please see the attachment for what I mean. I took the screenshot from Fireworks where it is possible to add multiple textures in one object. The amount is overwhelming and very useful when illustrating. The only texture AD seems to have is "noise" but I am missing a whole set of them. Is it maybe that there is another way to achieve this and I didn't see it yet? I thought of patterns but they are cumbersome compared to this kind of texturing which is fast and easy to produce. Anyway, thanks, and I'd like to know if there is any possibility of getting this in AD or another way I can achieve these effects as of today. TY.
  18. Hi Is there any way to actually see what this does?: "Snap all when dragging: will snap any node (not only the one you are dragging) from one shape to any other node on another selected shape." I just dont get just reading what it is supposed to do, and no matter what I do, I don't understand how to use it. Thanks
