  1. Thanks! Of course. The more people doing great things the better all of us including myself will get. For years, dealing with software devs I've been able to request and advise on what I'd like to see implemented in apps so I get my work done better and faster. The more people can get to this level the better the whole will get.
  2. Hi crabtrem, I will put it on Udemy. I will be giving away free coupons so stay tuned as the first arrive/see first will get. There will be many of them though. Thanks.
  3. I was using Chrome, but in my case, not even in Safari - Version 9.0.2 (9537.86.3.9.1) Please see link of a screenshot. Red bold text pastes as outlined text, although at least it tells me in the colour fill info that it is red and bold. http://postimg.org/image/47u7wvy79/ Thanks.
  4. AD 1.4 and the website http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Special_Weapon_Effects_(Borderlands_2) Cheers, Isabel.
  5. Hi guys and thanks for the replies. This is the issue. I've been doing exactly what you say, since initially it seems the action seems quite self explainative, but nothing is retained when normally pasting a red bold text from the web. That's why I was quite puzzled, cause the normal pasting and the paste without attributes seem to do the same to me. Anyone knows why this could be happening? Thanks again
  6. Hello Been looking around but can't seem to find any guide on how this exactly works? Any help? Don't see any difference with normal pasting. Cheers, Isabel
  7. Thanks all of you and the rest of commenters. Yes, they will be on Affinity Designer, as it is the best vector tool at this moment, the most interesting, fresher and the one that is a real competitor with possibilities against Illustrator. I really need to show designers and the illustration community that better software tools are not only possible, but already a reality. I've been for years trying to make many professionals understand how much better it is demanding quality software than using what we have, just cause it is what the standards say. I really think tools as Illustrator is putting many people off and making work much harder and unpleasant than it should/could be. This could be a long debate about software, which I always found really exciting, and so are these times, as many more people is starting the change, at last! What I'd like to do also is explaining several approaches that work for any other kind of software too.. Ways of thinking and mindset that will allow you to make artwork every time better. My own experience getting here and being able to do this and how I learnt my own way to this level, which was not easy at the beginning and then, after trying and trying, on my own, became easy as breathing. I have the tutorial outlined, all the materials I need ready, and after Christmas I'll start recording it. It's gonna be a long one, that I intend to split in 2 for the sake of allowing beginners and more advanced artists decide where they want to start. Thanks and I'll let you all know more soon.
  8. haha... thanks, I've checked your work and it is very nice Dan. I will teach you all how to do this if interested. There was a time I didn't know how to do it either, wondering how on earth I could do the same. I thought the others were too good. I am still there for many other fields in my life, so I know very well how you feel. But : I know with real interest and work you can do it too. Some might get better some not, but the important thing and mindset: probably those who get better simply study/practice more than those who don't. That is the best mindset to get further, and it doesn't even matter if it's totally true or not. What I know is with that belief I get results and without it, probably I wouldn't be so motivated to try harder. So keep looking and don't desperate. I was there too once! When I have my tuts ready I'll let you all know. And you'll see how much easy it all gets when some things are clearer, not only about the tool, but about how you look at things. I've done workshops before and my students would leave the class at the end with a little piece of artwork they didn't expect they could do before starting. Cheers and thanks again :)
  9. Another illustration trying the latest beta. More details and thoughts on it in my Behance portfolio. https://www.behance.net/gallery/31578563/1957-Chevy-Corvette-Roadster-Affinity-D-Vectors
  10. I add here the need of more blurring effects, motion would be the most important for me. Thanks
  11. I'm thinking now that maybe this is only possible within the export persona? by slicing the canvas? Am I right? Thanks
  12. Hi I've been looking around but couldn't find a solution to this, which seems strange. Probably I'm missing how to do it. So I want to resize my canvas to fit my contents, but I don't know how to do this. I don't mean resizing canvas inputting values, but simply resizing it either to fit contents or the way usually is done in other apps, which is using the crop tool sliding it over the canvas and double clicking to crop to the desired size (no need to think of the exact pixels, but done by eye) Is this possible? And if not, am I supposed then to do this calculating the size I need for it and the inputting numbers it in the correspondent field? Thanks and sorry I couldn't find a solution, cause this is a very common feature and I guess someone else asked about it before.
  13. Feathering is absolutely needed in my opinion if you want to achieve some perfection. Just my 2 cents but there is a BIG difference between working with a good feathering tool compared to the not so fine blur option which is all we get these days in new software. It'd be a big improvement for my artwork. Just as good as the one Fireworks had. What a joy. High quiality. Any idea if this could be considered?
  14. Hi, thanks all I usually use references for hyperrealistic pieces. Then adapt things for the final illustration, colors, backgrounds, elements. I am preparing some tutorials at the moment. They will cover how to look at things, how to create hyperrealistic illustrations, and how to use software and many different workflows. Get the most out of software by understanding, and getting there.
  15. It works sometimes... it seems not to be possible other times... but I don't get why exactly.
  16. Hi Tried to see if someone else asked about this before as I feel is a key feature for vector software. Am I doing it wrong or, to select an object in the canvas I should go to the layers panel and select it there? Please tell me Im doing it wrong or Ill go crazy in a sea of layers that, even when named, for the kind of work I do, will be no easy solution. I'm not sure about the rest but when Im working in complicated illustrations, being able to directly select an object/shape in there is crucial to keep an steady and fast workflow. Thanks.
  17. Just purchased Affinity 2 mins ago (finally). I had made this bubble artwork some time ago with the beta version, and first time using it! I have different versions of it, with different software, and Affinity Designer performed very good. It has a friendly and fast learning curve and no cumbersome actions, or bloating in it. Congrats! Isabel.
