  1. Hi I wanted to inform my fellow (interior) architects that it is indeed possible to use artboards with different scales. I wasn't able to find out where or how one could do this. It would be easy if you could adjust it in the transform panel but alas. How you do this is draw 1 artboard. Unselect the artboard, just click somewhere outside the artboard so the artboard isn't selected. Than go to the toolbar and chose document setup. Set the scale. After that you draw a completely new artboard with the artboard tool and deselect everything again. Chose document setup again and set the new scale. The newly drawn artboard wil be in the new scale.
  2. You can draw in scale jmf :), in V2 at least. Well they are making vast improvements for "architects" (drawing in scale, import of dwg dxf,..). For me they don't even have to be locked if that is too hard to implement. But the tool is already there, you can draw scaled and you can measure the scaled dimension. Only, the dimension line dissapears when you measure other points. If it would just leave it there (measure tool in Blender f.e.), that also would be amazing. Or have the option to turn on the dimension length of a line/stroke. An on/off option in the stroke panel to show the lengt of a stroke. So that way, if you stretch the stroke, the dimensions adjust accordingly. When I work fast in 3D I prefer Sketchup over Vectorworks. But I'd love to use Affinity Designer instead of Sketchup Layout for 2D plans (the graphic and export options are way better)
  3. Here to ask the same thing. We already have the ruler which snaps to the points and gives the dimension. Why should the dimension line dissapear? I use Affinity for drawing plans, even though I have professional CAD software. I love using Affinity for my simple floorplans, it's fast and I can use my own assets and make beautiful plans. This would be so usefull and would speak to a big (new!) audience who is paying a lot for expensive CAD software now.
  4. There is a CAD addon for illustrator. It would be nice to be able to draw in scale in affinity. One could draw and transform afterwards but.. it is a very needed option that would be very favorable for Affinity Designer and would lure many customers, since it's easy to pattern and make very beautifull 2D presentations
  5. And yes, I also lost weeks of work by losing my assets for no reason at all. The feature can't be trusted.
  6. This world come in very handy since every social media platform promotes using clips/reels this better for self promotion.
  7. I'm busy cleaning up Cad files for hours and hours. this is really such a drag, time consuming and should not have to be.
  8. Yes, a +1 for that option. I need to clean plans and was hoping affinity would save me much time. Guess I'll have to resort to another program
  9. I currently run 1.6.5.135. At startup the program says an update is available. Went to download it and run the setup but the setup fails.
