  1. Edited, the first original reply.....as that was not really for Presets, but more for Downloading Content. Presets don’t have a way to Load on iPad, that I’m aware. But..there is a workaround...f you have an Affinity Photo Document (including Layers, Adjustments, etc)...can open it in Affinity Photo, then ‘add preset’/save (and Name on ‘pop-up’ given)...then look for the Preset Saved and use. i
  2. Asked in the general forums...but thought I’d suggest an idea, mainly for iPad version regarding the Links Panel. 1- When assigning links...sometimes miss that sweet spot on the ‘square checkbox-type icon’, when dragging a Layer onto it (which has to be on that area)....or will not assign a link for that row. In need of some ‘indicator’ to know you’re truly able...works as intended, just doesn’t work if not directly on it (sometimes reattempts needed). Similar at least to how on desktop version, gives an ‘arrow’ indicator...maybe something like the standard ‘blue bar’ when dealing with regular Layers, Adjustments, etc. 2- Understand why, but might be a nice option..... Ability to Tap the empty area, where the link icon normally would display....to assign an additional link for that item on already linked items (without Re-Dragging to assign). Just an added option. Loving it so far, but definitely could help. ‘Thanks again for 1.9!
  3. Missed the Live presentation event, since on GMT...and being in U.S., which is unfortunate because had so many questions in general. But oh well... 1- One in particular is Linking on iPad...using Links display panel. In James’ demo....he displays the Links display panel, then simply selects a Layer, then selects another layer to drag to Links panel to assign...as he ‘drags/hovers’ above (what would be the small ‘square’ icon at front) to assign, he’s given an ‘arrow prompt’ to show he is indeed on correct place to assign (similar if say assigning a Layer/Adjustment on iPad by blue highlight bar). Assigns as intended....works awesome btw...but did take me more than several attempts, to figure out that...have to be directly over the little ‘square icon- not just the row it is on. Now that I know...of course love it! But at times still have to be careful as no indicator is given, and can have to repeat if didn’t quite hit that sweet spot. 2- Figuring out the work flow...and learning more and more (is really incredible how much can be done)...but is there a way to simply as you would Tap the link icon (area it is at least) to already linked files, and add a that specific one missing from the other (Instead of re-dragging)? Overall can’t say it enough..just updated and loving even the scratched surface I have done thus far. Hopefully, some more iPad video showcases coming. Thanks, loving it so far!,
  4. Understandable. There are a few items missed in say Affinity Photo, like having multiple Windows open at the same time on the App with the overall Toolbar access at the top. But adapting to it or similar differences is readily easily achieved, and while fluidity based on desktop versions usage is there in a side by side comparison..the fluidity is only hindered by not properly utilizing the capabilities and accessibility the iPad has integrated. Have rarely if ever come across a situation not as fluid in design practices after learning the UI/UX..which is the only difference in the end. Even other publishing apps are advanced enough for it in ‘basic’ user aspects. Which is why after using both Affinity Photo and Designer on iPad...want the advanced capabilities that Publisher have to offer. Having Affinity Photo, Designer, Publisher alongside Procreate and LumaFusion would be an almost complete mobile studio it already is.
  5. Title says it all. Not a Desktop User anymore, as the iPad Pro capabilities have exceeded my expectations and creative capabilities. Not requesting an Affinity Video app...LumaFusion already the bomb for that, and iPhone capable even. No need for a presentation viewer, plenty of ways already. No need for anything that does not already exist on the Desktop systems version of Affinity products. Really just another ‘tired old’ request at this point, so apologies...but please, Publisher for iPad. Pages and others out there...just not up to par with Affinity’s.
  6. Never used Affinity Movie PlusX6 or know anything about it...but if you want imho an excellent Movie production and editing software LumaFusion is the way to go. Use LumaFusion on my iPad Pro and it is abundant with features..and they, like Affinity Devs, constantly work on and add more to the features to keep it a top-notch movie production studio for any type of style. One time low cost purchase like Affinity too. Is honestly one step away from from having an After Effects styled applications, but most definitely runs equally with Adobe Premier ...and affordable/no sub.
  7. Not just a want..but a NEED for Affinity Publisher on iPad Pro now. Too many projects and opportunities...and only a desktop version thus far (don’t have..all work is iPad and loving it). Please...soon...please!
  8. Thanks, SeanP..for clarifying. Had wondered as if I had missed something...since the ‘Hand tool’ option had gone through successfully (works great). Hopefully it will be added later. Thanks again.
  9. Actually, yes...pretty much that simple. Still makes a composite not a folder...don’t see where the option is anywhere.
  10. Thanks to both for replying. But, the issue is not ‘Grouping Layers’ in general...more then a couple of ways to do that. Instead just trying to make the Group Layer as a Folder icon, not a composite. As far as doing this on a Desktop..I know the layout is different, so the ‘little hamburger’ icon (displayed on desktop versions at bottom of panel) is not the same as iPad version...and the one that IS on iPad (at top right, next to the pin icon) does not give an option to turn on or off. Nowhere to be found...not even settings (such as Hand tool option).
  11. Noticing it occurs when the ‘Blue Object Frame’ is dragged over the Artboard in vicinity (Notifications), but that is a Grouped Locked Layer. IMG_0794.MOV
  12. Not seeing where this option is available. IPad Pro (3rd gen) updated v.13.6, current Apple ID updated, and downloaded new update from AppStore. Have checked Settings, prior to opening a Doc and pre-existing Docs...and able to access new ‘Hand’ tool, but see nowhere to opt for the ‘Group Layer as folder’..checked the ‘Help’ which is on auto update, not there. Even looked at Layer options in Layers. Where is this option located, please? Thanks.
  13. Understood the issue. Sorry the explanation of what to do doesn’t suit your design needs.
  14. If the Font and Text (what you want it to say, look etc) are all correct...meaning you don’t want to change the Text/Font in any way in the future, then simply go to ‘Convert to Curves’. This will be like Rasterizing Font, but giving you the ability to transform the text with nodes if desired. (Can always Duplicate the selected Text, then Hide it in Layers column beforehand if you might make any Font/Text changes in thefuture. Might be a better way, but solves the ‘correction’ underline showing.
  15. Happens when you completely resize the Artboard as a Canvas-type Resizing, as well. Might not be the same as overshooting Fonts, but had all Constraints correctly on one Template for an iPhone and transferred successfully to another (different phone size and tablet). After Exporting an image, tested doing a resizing of the Artboard itself, and it shifted some icons, some even removed outside of what I think was previous area. Being the icons were inside the template, shouldn’t have shifted. Fixed everything by reworking in the end, and most likely doing something in error myself but perhaps related.
  16. Might still be somewhat of an issue with Locked Layers, in last update. ‘Using Selection tool on an object (outside of Locked Layer) to move, resize, or work on nodes etc., suddenly puts the object into another Grouped Layer, even if Locked. Automatically moves it when simply working on it. Looks as if you have ‘arranged’ it to ‘go to back’ visually, as it disappears completely...but in fact the entire Layer has been moved to another ‘Layer Level’ entirely...even Groups or Locked Layers‘Groups.
  17. Know you’re frustrated, so apologize for the works for me...as it it is how you are attempting to do so, I think. In Affinity App, files should always be saved first as pressing ‘Close’ on files options deletes everything completely. Also, having used Procreate, know there is ability to save the actual file directly to Google Drive, Dropbox etc, just see no direct way in Affinity yet so use this method. Saving the actual Affinity File (original, layers and all..) App should be open displaying your Gallery. On the Gallery File Image should be a = type symbol in right bottom corner, press and should get “Close/Rename/Duplicate/Save” option. ’Save’ saves the file on your iPad. On your iPad go to Files>Affinity (photo or designer). Select file then Share>GoogleDrive. While in Affinity (exporting an image...this is for image only, not actual Affinity File) Exporting an Image created, simply hit Export>Share (bottom left corner)>Google Drive. Select location desired, Upload.
  18. 25Gb for just the Affinity Designer App and Files is unusually large. Having the new iPad Pro and looking at storage memory, 29 Gb is the entirety of ALL my Apps, Media, Files etc stored on it. Designer and Photo each only having @3 Gb for App and Files....and as an Artist/Designer myself, also using Procreate and LumaFusion for designing (and countless other apps) have over a hundred Art content files. Affinity Photo/Designer and Procreate ARE my highest Gb usage which would be normal given natures of the Apps. Now my iPad Pro IS the 256Gb version, so there is more room, but Something is up if at 64 Gb you’re storage is becoming filled. Might need to check on other items Stored on your iPad (photos, videos, files, number of Apps, etc.) If a lot of media- photos, music, videos, files,etc- then utilize off storage...SSDs, Cloud etc. Apple even gives extra Cloud Storage capacity for only .99¢ a month which I use (and currently hardly need), as well as Other New SSD over-air devices sold. I know on my iPad 3, which I used Procreate on a long while ago used to come across this issue being limited storage capacity, but most was due to the Procreate original files, Images Exported, App itself combined with all the other stuff being the real culprits. Offload unused apps. Find better storage and uses for files....SSD, Cloud storage..and should free up a LOT.
  19. Hello all! I have been using Affinity Photo and Designer on my iPad Pro for a long while now. Thoroughly enjoy it, and might I say recommended and promote it myself in conversations all the time with others. Was just hoping to get more updated info on Affinity Publisher for iPad; coming soon, release dates, etc. It is June 2020...nudge, nudge, wink, wink...and know with previous possibilities of it coming around now, and the unfortunate Corona impacts, it may have delayed. Of course understand Affinity wanting a big announcement for it...it is of course software akin to marketing stuffs, but any latest news? And please, no need to influx with Users restating long-standing announcements from 2019....like to hear from Affinity, in 2020. Thanks! ;)
