FintanMcTiernan
When will the Lens Correction Profile for the Canon 24 to 105 RF mount lens be available in Affinity Photo ?
Staff Dan C Posted September 11, 2019 Staff Share Posted September 11, 2019 Hi FintanMcTiernan Unfortunately we rely on the LensFun database for Lens support, meaning we can't be certain when specific lens support may be added. I've checked their latest Github repository and unfortunately this lens is not currently part of their support list, my apologies. I've moved this thread to our Feedback section of the forums, as I feel it best fits here. However you'll need to make a request with LensFun directly for them to add support for your lens. Alternatively you can try calibrating your own XML file, then import this into Affinity for use. Please see the following link for more info - http://lensfun.sourceforge.net/calibration/ Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks! Matthijs Hols
+1 PS, just checking their website and it seems we may not expect much development! Have a read here: http://lensfun.sourceforge.net/news/ A snippet taken from there: Currently, I do not have time to maintain the Lensfun project in way that is satisfactory for myself, for the community and for the users. This project really needs someone who takes a look at the bigger picture and has the vision and motivation to keep the project alive and in a good condition. Therefore, I would like to ask the community to take over the Lensfun project management and maintenance in the next months. I will still be around and contribute from time to time. But to be realistic, none of the above listed changes will happen if no one else kicks in and does the job. Ideally, Lensfun is taken under the hood of a bigger project with experienced developers like e.g. Darktable or Rawtherapee that already makes use of Lensfun.
