Support for Graphtec vinyl plotter

Recommended Posts

I work in a design/print shop and we use a Graphtec CE6000-60 vinyl plotter for creating window signage such as store hours, logos, etc. Currently we use a program called Cutting Master 3 provided by the vendor to send the files to the plotter. The program has a plug-in for illustrator CC that can export an .ai file as a .csv file into Cutting Master. Is this kind of functionality going to be implemented into Affinity Designer, or is there another program out there that can do this? We are soon going to be upgrading from Windows PCs to Mac Pros in our office and we would like to get away from Adobe and start using Affinity, but we can't afford to lose the ability to send files to our plotter. I have a feeling that I am going to have to ask Graphtec if they are going to support Affinity, but I figured I'd ask here anyway.

Hi philiam22,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

This is already being discussed in other threads. Here's the links:

- Vinyl Cutters

- Compatibility with Graphtec cutters/plotters

Affinity Designer is still quite recent. We are focused on completing what's on our roadmap first  before considering more features. This doesn't mean we will not look into it. It's just to soon to give any definite answers regarding this.

Another vote for supporting Graphtec vinyl plotters.  I'm willing to help support development if needed.  It's been a year since these request have been showing up - any updates from Affinity team?
