The system seems to be working fine, I use it for picture editing at home, but I am stumped by a simple task, a very simple task, but I can't find the right button to press. I want several images open in the main image view window side by side in view simultaneously, docked, possibly this is called a tiled display. How is this done? The system has done this once or twice without my knowing how it occurred ! Any clues?

Hi TedR :)

Are you looking for a view similar to this? image.png

You can use Window>Float all to make each document it's own moveable window, each of which can then be transformed into position. Unfortunately there's no automatic way of creating a view like this currently in Affinity, you'll have to do the resizing and positioning manually - my apologies!

Thank you, yes that's the view I am seeking, a tiled display. I was hoping to find an automatic feature rather than manually manipulating each window. I could swear that a couple of times the display became tiled automatically, but it must be my memory playing tricks! Thanks anyway.
